I smoked Bambi...now what?

Driving to go camping at Ferris Park, I hit a deer going 100. Stupid thing jumped right out into my car and BAMMMM. I know better not to swerve or slam on my brakes so I just prepared for the impact. It mashed my fender, headlight, hood, wheel liner, power steering and looks like the frame part might be bent. The thing stumbed 100 yards and collapsed in a field. I go look at it and it freaks and almost kicks me. and then got up and stumbled away after looking at it for a good 15 mins waiting for the cops to come. I have witnesses and got myself a police report. And whats left to do is call the insurance company.

Im with State farm and my car is pretty modified. Will they send an adjuster to check out my car and everything? Will they fix my claim? Will they drop me right after? Im prepared for the worst. Can anybody give me a heads up?

Unless you can afford to fix it yourself, call your insurance company.

My car's pretty modified and State Farm was pretty cool with everything. I even ended up getting a carbon fibre hood hood out of my accident.

btw... sorry about your luck man.

i guess the question here is... to help out boss, is did state farm know abuot your mods.....

if not, how did you tell state farm about your parts to have them reimburse you without jacking up your insurance rates when you tell them your car is modded without telling them in the first place

Well originally they didn't know.
I filed a claim for one of my accidents and when the adjuster came done to look at my car he told my agent that my car was modded. So they covered all the damages but my agent wanted me to stop by so he could see the car.
Went by his office (really cool guy btw) and he took pictures and measured my ride height. I was kinda worried but he said it will be fine. He then emailed the pics to head office or where ever and they ok'd my car.

So in short... originally they didn't know my car was modded... they do now and they still cover me.

technically they can deny you coverage but not a third party. But I doubt the deer will be making a claim.

Oh i should mention that I have never seen insurance company do that but i know its possible.

I would remove the mods before the adjuster shows up and put them back on when t he car is fixed. Take the car to a friendly shop, that way u could get some extra $$ out of your insurance and add couple of mods.
