Theft?
Alright guys spring is here. I slapped on my Rota C-10's but............................................I dont have lug nuts.
My question to you is....how many are running decent sets of rims and tires without lugs?
Should I be worried about leaving my car in a public parking spot?

i bought McGard Splinedrives. gauranteed not to rust and/or chip and its been treating me good. 16 lugs total, included is 4 locking nuts. Crappy part is that the adapter to get the lugs out is a different size then the stock lugs so I guess now I hafta carry around my socket set. $109.99 plus your taxes.
I suggest you get wheel locks. Preventative. Better safe then sorry.

IMO I'd go with Locknuts, hopefully you have an alarm so that worst case scenario, thiefs do try and wiggle your wheels off, your alarm will go off.
But like mentioned above, lock nuts or no lock nuts, if a thief is determined to get your wheels... they will. Sad but true

it also depends on what brand of rims you have. thieves usually won't waste their time on a set of american racing, bsa's or low end motegis. my buddy has had a set of 17" motegi mr7's on his car for three years with no locking nuts and he still has them. on top of that he lives by martin grove and finch near jamestown cre. and he visits his daughter in region park on a regular basis. for those that don't know, these are really rough areas in the T. out here you need to worry about your whole car getting jacked and not just your wheels.

I'll post it here again.... as I did in another forum....
In my opinion, there is no real difference between 1 wheel lock set, and 4.
Why? Because if there's at least 1 wheel lock set per wheel, and a thief wants it, they will use the professional wheel lock removal tools....
Never seen it in action, but any decent wheel shop can remove a wheel lock should you "lose" your key.... Basically it wraps around the outside of the lug, and as you turn it with a wrench, it tightens and grips the OUTSIDE of the lug... Unless you can get lug nuts with a weird lock, AND has smooth outsides (there are some expensive ones that exist), you're outta luck....
I have the stock Acura (McGard) ones on my stock rims and winter steelies....

yup...my tire shop has a 'Master' Key set....they can get anything off. I lost my key off a set once and they took about 3 minutes to get them all off and replace them with new one's.
