ya.. when and doubt... avoid the dealership unless you need oem parts for the car.
crappy tire is usually the better alternative... excluding services that they provide. when and doubt again.. do it yourself you can.. if not.. then look for services.

At the end of the day, it was only the battery.......
normally when a car is running it's not really using the battery, just charging it..
the car is mostly running off the alternator (ergo, 12v when off, 14v when running)..the batterys only real use is to start the car
same thing happened to me and my first thought was alternator, had it changed by Honda the next day (after CAA towed me to the dealership
)..i do 12v accessory, 14v running (loaded down) and even 14v when sucking 2700 watts out of the system..
only thing that ever makes me drop down to 12 while running is the rear defrost or extreme spl load
this is on stock battery up front, yellow top 51r in the rear and a 200amp isolator
yellow top is pimp, definitely recommend it..one day i'll get one for the front too...or maybe 2 bigger ones for the system, i dunno yet

it was at 12v-13v when i was at idle... but only with the rear defroster on....
but while driving today.. it was at about 13.8, 13.9v... didnt really reach 14v.
i may probably get the alternator checked then

that sounds normal AznSaint
rear defrost creates one bitch of a load
might be too that your gauges aren't calibrated 100%
sounds like yer alternator is doing it's job..
battery was cold, engine was cold...that's like you at 80 years old trying to do twice the work you can do now..
if it starts up fine today (which is supposed to be warmer) then maybe, as said above, grab one of those booster packs..
you're not running under drive pullies or anything are ya??

I just went there today at Costco, there were none for our car.
If you saw one for our car, which Costco?
