Sponsorship Scandal ...
Anyone following the testifying by various politicans and witnesses?
I watched the news last night and saw Mariam Bedard testify that she "heard" that Jacques Villienueve rec'd $12 million to wear the Canadian Flag on his race uniform - And that top political officals where involved with drug traffiking

Alot of the things she was saying were things that she heard from her manager, not that she knew about herself. If you ask me, alot of it sounds far fetched, but you never know.

Rep Power: 0 thats a good point...but i dont think the effects of hearsay are as damaging here vs. the states. and because the story is so far fetched i dont think the public will take this very seriously
I heard all this in class, I think it should be maditory to wear a flag of your originating country on your sleve or people should automitically do it. I don't like him that much to really care enough. There's still Carpentier, Tracy and his dad amoung others to look up to.

if they really paid 12 million dollars for jacque to wear the canadian flag, then that would be sad. you should be proud to represent your country to the world with pride. I see mike myers wearing maple leafs jacktets, canadian roots jackets all the time on tv. He always represents canada.

And he has always had a Canadian flag on his racing suit, just like every other driver has their own country's flag on their racing suit belt. These rumors are fales. Anyone who knows anying about racing knows that Jacques Villeneuve is Canadian so why would the Canadian government feel the need to promote that and waste 12 Million dollars. If it actually happened good for Jacques to take 12 million cause you know you would do the exact same thing.

I mean, if the government came to you and said, here take $12 million to wear the flag, I think we would all say yes ...

alright, alright. It's not the Canadian Flag that he wore, it was the logo for the Canadian Government which is based on the flag. Jaques already had the flag on his car by his name like all the drivers have.
That whole sponsorship scandal was very real and very stupid. S.hit like that should start to die down since Chretien isn't in office anymore throwing money at Quebec just to shut them up.

When was the last time Bombardier got a nod for a major contract from the Canadian Gov? Guess what, it's not gonna happen for a long time because the biggest crook of them all is out of office now. A smart person would have sold all their Bombardier stock when Chretien left.
12 million is nothing compared to the 100 million or so that has been stollen.
This stuff does not surprise me, the liberals are so strong as a party that they know they can get away with whatever they do. as long as we dont have a second powerfull party ( ***condervaives***) the libearal with continue to do this type of ****.
