Just wondering if I change the stock deck, do I need to buy a bracket when I put my aftermarket deck in??

When I did mine I bought a kit for like $24 it's plastic to fill in the space when you take out the stock stereo

damn.. ebay sucks. Only ones only ship to confirmed addresses. We live in Canada and we can't get confirmed addresses according to paypal.

Can anybody in the GTA tell me where they got their bracket from?? If you know the name of the store, that would be great. If you could tell me the nearest intersection they would be also helpful.

I'd check your local store, it might cost more in the long run with shipping and all that. I was going to do the same and ended up just going to the store it was cheaper.

yeah... I worked it out, it would cost about the same. Are $20 shipped here. I don't want to wait for this thing either. Once I get my car. I'm going to drive it home from the dealership. Once I get home, first thing, take out the deck.

BTW, stock deck doesn't play mp3's right??? well if I does, I might as well keep it in...

No it doesn't play mp3 I got my JVC deck that does it's pretty sweet. Try Futureshop I dunno I'm not from the GTA area, I'm sure someone else will answer

I got my mounting kit from my local stereo shop. Future Shop and Best Buy wouldn't sell me any install hardware unless I was having it installed there. Me and my friend went to a Best Buy here in Mississauga and we told them I was from out of town and needed a wiring harness in time for a big audio show the next day. They relented and went to the back to get me one. I faked a Southern accent all the way to the cashier.

Haha that's funny good job on that one

I just went to a manager and told them how stupid it was to deny selling me a product. They said they don't make alot of money off them and I told them than I'll go to another place and make sure to do future business with the other place. So they sold me a kit, yeah I totally forgot about the harness. Becareful with the wiring futureshop blew out my gauge lights and tried to put the blame on me.

First off, I'm not paying anyone to install a deck. Installing a deck is so easy. Why would I want to waste my money for someone to install my stereo, when I can do it myself.

I got the bracket today. Went to some store in markham.

if your near scarborough go on Warden... south of Eglington theres Chase Audio i got the ISO-MOUNT metra kit.. this ables you to keep the pocket under the deck...

Any stereo shop should be able to get it - it's the Metra 99-7897. I have it too. It's pimped. But certain motorized faceplate decks, like that Sony one with the blackout face, will rub (damaging the finish on the face) if you don't move them outward a little.

Mine I just press a button and it flips on it's own weight so I don't have to worry. Hope I kept my stock pouch thing. Oh word of advice for stereo install Futureshop played around with the lumination and blew out the circuit for my lights on my gauge cluster. Well it could be just it happened at the same time but I blamed them anyways.

Sorry to say I agree with you man...can't you take off that silver bezel and push the deck further in? I did that with mine.

The silver bezel has neon lights built into it so I'd like to keep it, I'll just buy the new kit.

You may have to cut a bit off the new kit to get the bezel to sit flush in there. Otherwise you're back to the same situation, IMO.

Oh really ok than the kits are the same you guys just took off the bezel and sat it back further? Cars are a pain in the a$$ how come I couldn't take up sewing or something LOL I'll but that on the to do list for this spring.
