Rep Power: 0 Project K20A type R HAS Begun
Project K20A type R HAS Begun. This will be the first 2002 JDM integra Type R K20A swap into a 7th gen civic that i know of. The car belongs to Venomscivic. HondaWerx.com is sponcering this project with the nessesary OEM Honda and Acura parts needed for the swap. (ie) subframe, wireharnesses, hubs etc... I will try to get as many step by step pictures on my site, so you guys can see how its going as time passes. Venomscivic should b posting info here as well. The engine just arived yesterday, and is sitting at the shop awaiting the Hasport mount release to begin the d17 teardown.
Pics of the engine and car are now on my site, and will be updated often.

Rep Power: 0 The mounts are supposed to be relaesed after SEMA so like Nov. 10th i think??? as far as the swap time......not sure yet..hopefully not longer than a month. The power steering and AC lines will need to be custom made.

Rep Power: 0 Ok guys, Im hopefully planning to have the car done by the first week of dec. Im gonna have those mounts next day'd the second I can pick them up cuz I want to get this swap done before snow sets in up here. D@mn winter, . Anyways, briang was suppose to post a bunch of info that I need for parts, how to wire up the wire harness, what hubs;axles;etc to use, if I need to use the rsx radiator, ETC. but since he has like 4 cars going to SEMA, he's kinda busy right now. Im hoping though he will be able to get that info out before the mounts are out. Like I said, im racing to get this swap done before winter sets in. Ill keep you guys posted on as much as I can. Oh and Ill let you guys know what the price is when its all done. The complete motor was 6k and yet I still have to get rsx subframe, possible rsx radiator, etc. So, Im guessin that with everything, its gonna be like 9500-10k. yeah its not a cheap swap, but my dad and I wanted to do the swap so thats that. Its pretty sick cuz my dad is more pysched about this swap at times than me. Like I have been tellin people, once the car is done, I won't even see the car cuz he be stealin it . Anyways, Im not planning on having a meet or anything once the car is done, but if we have spring meet ill definitely be there. You know that I will be giving out rides and I may even let some of my closest friends drive it, but thats not including hondawerx, , j/k. Alright, Im done rambling, later guys and ill let you guys know when its sitting in the engine bay.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah I gotta ask... which ECU are you going to be using? It appears you won't get the full potential of the engine without the Type R ECU and a much higher octane.

Rep Power: 394 Damn, this is seriously happening! Good luck! Hopefully you'll be able to do some more to the engine once it's in there. You'll have some serious horsepower there. That will be a serious car on the strip.

Rep Power: 0 "guess we shall see. I only point this out because of Ziel's Type R converted Type S unless I'm mistaking something. I guess you're aware of this already. It had the Type S ecu but the engine poorly on 91 octane due to the compression ratio of the car being 11:5:1. Once it was given 100 octane, the engine performed better after they dynoed the car on both octanes. With 91 octane, it performed like the Type S."
Duh the R wasnt designed for the US market. the Japanese gasoline is much higher in ocatine then the **** water they sell here. only way you will see R power figures on US gasoline is to constantly buy 100+ octaine racing fuel or octaine booster for every fill. a waste of money any way you look at it.

Rep Power: 0 Exactly my point. It's like having the Type S engine but with an LSD, shorter gear ratios and a higher redline. The advantage I see is that the K20A will be in the lighter Civic chassis than the heavier Type S. Who knows, the engine still has potential if you're willing to get the proper gas for it. Good luck.
