Some good questions on swap or turbo?

Alright , ive been thinking more and more about the d17. Right now I have AEM cai, HP top half header and hp downpipe, catback, pulleys. I was gonna get my custom intake manifold done thats supposed to free up a lot of ponies, then iwas gonna get the juice , just a 50 shot. Right now my car is really to bad performance wise. I was gonna turbo soon, and then wait for all the internals to be produced and go all out with the turbo. I was thinking though how fast do you think that will be , will I run even 13's with all this work , prob. not. So then I was thinking why not just do the Type s swap then turbo. That would be nice. But i know a lot of people have mishifted with the type s and blew there shiet. Now im not made of money so if i did that my car could be sitting for months. So then I was thinking why not just d o the RSX swap then turbo that, do you think that would have much potential, i know more than the civic , but would it be pointless to do that swap. Do you think i could rech that hp with turboing the d17 and internals. SO please give me some feedback on what I should do.
1. Turbo d17 do internals
2. RSX type s swap then hopefully turbo or
3. RSX swap and turbo.
Let me know which one you think and give me some opinions on these topics
Thansk sorry this is so long but its bugging me.
I want some thought by some big shots. Neomagus, Joeb16, Grey. Opinions welcome

Use the money that you will be spending on the swap and turbo and save it and use it as a down payment on a brand new car that satisfies your needs

stlvtec, i'd go swap w/ option to turbo it later.

benefits: for a swap

1. you know how much stock power you are getting
2. its been done
3. hasports is coming out with motor mounts
4. if u want more power, turbo it.

that wasn't one of the choices. modifying a civic is a hobby.
if you didn't have anything useful to add why did you post?
1. You know nothing about "swapping", "hybrids", etc. and are just ignorant to the topic and are therefore clueless and don't understand
2. You had an urge to be the first person in a swapping thread to say, "if you wanted to go faster, why didn't you just buy a faster car in the first place"
3. You just felt like being a moron and making a dumbass comment

Now stay within the choices this time and choose wisely

As for the topic
How much horsepower do you want?
If you're happy with ~200hp then do the swap w/o turbo or put a turbo on the d17.
If you want more than that and can afford it then go for the k20 with a turbo and you will probably looking around 270hp

Just a question to anyone. Would our car's frame be able to handle 270hp or would the frame need reinforcement?

DC5Master (Who is going to be featured on Import Tuner Nov. Issue) has a Boosted RSX that has 310 WHP. So yes, you would have a lot of potential with the K20+Turbo, but that's going to be a lot of dough! 310 WHP is about what? Mid 14's? maybe even Low 14's. His car is sick, his GF drives a ITR (rsx) and he has bride front seats and rear seats, JDM HID's, turbo, INGs kit, sweet rims, everything! Buy Import Tuner!

Mmmm, oooh, ahhh, jizz

310 whp on a DC5 will get you deep into the low 13's, most likely even the 12's. A DC5 with just intake and exhaust (170+ whp) can already break well into the 14's.

Who the hell do you think you are? All he said was his opionion, it is valid, it is his. You have absolutley no right to tell him what he can and cannot say in a thread. Just because you have Super Member under your name doesn't allow you to tell people what to do. In the future, shut your mouth and respond to the post instead of flaming and telling other people what they can say. Idiot.

That rsx is bad. It would have alot of potential if I did that. . What do you think icould get this civic down to though With turbo and lots of internals, . I think ill just end up turboing the civic and do internals. Because hopefully this summer i will getiting my project car. 92 hatchback si with b18 , whole bunch of other goodies.

I bought my JDM Headlights for my RSX off of DC5Master...hes a good guy.

Anyways, my insight....if you have the money either do a K20A2 swap or K20A3+turbo....but of course im sure you know how much money will be involved to get this done. As for your project hatchback I strongly suggest not using an Si as they are the heaviest (even heavier than some 4 drs of the generation) and to use a CX or VX.

1. Whether I have Super Member or Newbie status, I'll say what I want, when I want.
2. I actually did respond to the thread if you would have quoted the whole thread. You should practice what you preach.
3. NeoMagnus, when did you trade in your Civic

um. rsx type s stock can do low 14s.

with the right driver I guess.

310 whp can do low 13s definitely dude.

my friend's boosted 200+ whp 95 civic can do 13s on slick.. so... and 14s on its crappy street tires...

I rather invest in the type s's... u can always turbo it later.

if you're going to swap, might as well swap in that. then do turbo a bit later.

the price difference is what? 1-2 grand? in terms of the engine?

i say go to turbo d17 then get internals later because with k20 it will b $10000.00 for the engine then a couple more for a turbo built to fit our engine bay. get the turbo for 3400.00 then install it your self easy then get the internals done later with the extra lets say 6000.00 theres lot to be done.
