that's actually downtown where a police station is right beside the c-train tracks. and police/ems are allowed to travel on the same road. he probably just drove too close to the tracks..

Rep Power: 0 Sometimes police officers are on their way to emergencies and dont' turn their lights on. YOu think everytime you see a cop rushing past you he's just cruising? Nope. They are generally on their way to take care of something...

IN THE ARTICLE they said that the cop may be prosicuted for running the light without just cause, therfore causint the accident.
