I went to my local Ford dealer and test drove the SVT ford focus, I was really impressed the car rode good stright from the factory and accelerated fast compaired to my civic and my moms automatic mustang gt. It had full leather interior looked real nice. And I like the way it looks stock personally I would not change a thing...it doesn't look like the zx-3, but looks very good in person. I liked that it did not push through the turns but instead the back end came around through out the turns, but easily stayed in control. The 2003 is coming out with HID lights, and a 5year/100,000 mile warranty. I was very impressed.

I thinks its around 7500 for the redline....
Just because its a ford doesnt make it suck there is nothing wrong with domestics
don't be mad just because its faster in every way compared to the New SI and base RSX

Everybody has there own opinion....most people give the stereotypical "Ford is crap"..ill agree with you that the SVT seems like a more logical choice over the Si but Base RSX, I think you're crazy. Good luck with whatever you do choose.

heh. some car enthusiast we have...

I haven't test drive the SVT focus.. but from what I've read it seems like a pretty good upgraded focus for the price.

I duno about ford quality as I've never own one, but I guess they do have the rep. in either case, thats what the warranties are for.

I think the SVT focus is better than our run down Si anyday of the week... but over a base RSX? I duno. The price difference is there though, the SVT focus is cheaper, no?

well hope you like it. IMO, what we're driving around on (our 7th gen civics) are a bit overpriced...

WELL I guess as long as they have recalls but the SVT doesn't at least they know what is wrong with it unlike honda and the stalling problem....My civic has almost left me stranded 2 times now and if I don't have the AC on it stalls out during the day...It will be fixed before I sell it though I don't put my problems on anyone else.
My familys and my past fords have never left me stranded nor had any problems.

And those who say the civic with a rsx swap will beat the svt focus all I have to say is mine will be turbocharged for about $3000

Well good luck on your new car, but my buddy had a 2000 SVT Contour(it was a hold-over). It was nice for the first 10,000 miles on it, then everything kept screwing up on the car, so he sold when the new Nissian Spec V came out. I just remember having a ford ranger a 93, and in 95 I gave my dad some money on it so I could drive it (I was too poor to afford my own car while I was still in high school). Man I loved that truck, but we kept it in the shop. Everything leaked on that truck!! (No I didn't get to drive it alot, to school three days a week, and maybe out until 11p either friday or sat. And no I didn't go 4 wheeling in it, but I had to clean it once week for my dad) Well sorry about that flash back.

But could the idling problem becaused by the gude package you have on your car now??

It may be nice now but in the long run... your investment will cause you to just invest more into an unreliable car.... and the long-run ain't long from buying it.

Actually not all American cars are crap, just most of them. Hopefully you'll get one that doesn't treat you like crap the next year.... but your chances of actually getting a fairly good American car is no different than trying to pick a scorpion from a cave of spiders. I had to 98 explorers, and there whas nothing wrong with them not even the tires (FireStone), go with what you like, the SVT is a nice car, and definetly woth your money, alot faster than these civic will ever get to be................

We have had a couple of Explorers and Expeditions currently and have never had any problems with them. Ford is now turning around with their cars. Otherwise we would not have them in our families.

IMA, I like the way the SVT Focus looks. The performance looks pretty good on paper. Also, they are coming out with a new SVT Focus 5 door.
