Ok for BLUE LED outside of car, when parked?

I bought one of those Varad Hyper Blue LEDs that blink...

Now, blue lights in general are illegal and the such... Especially flashing ones, makes you "impersonate an emergency vehicle" and the sort. Fine....

But, is it ok if I have the LED flashing when my car is parked? I want to hook it up to my alarm, and thus it'll only be flashing when the car is not in motion. (I want to tuck the LED into my parking light, driver side. (That orange bulb that never blinks when all your lights are on.... Next to the H4 headlight bulb).

You really should consult your Toronot Municipality for local by-laws as every state and province have their own different laws. I know in BC you can't have them, nor those fugly green reverse lights i see on some tegs.

"...orange bulb that never blinks..."

i wouldn't do this if i were you. it's just gonna draw the attention of the theif punks you're trying to scare off. put the LED in the interior like normal alarms. also, the fact that it's blue is probably gonna make some people think it's just a fake anyway. sure, they'll learn once they break your window, but since they already broke in, that won't stop them from grabbing your system, or cutting up your dash and seats...

And if you really want to scare off thieves just hook up the frame of the car to an AC outlet and they'll have a shock of their life!

as far as Florida is concerned, if you are parked, you can have those types of lights on your car, whether neon or strobes or anything like that.

Here in Virginia, as long as they car is in a parking lot, anything goes. I don't think there is a law anywhere against any kind of light when you're parked. Then again, I don't know everything .

Yeah same here... well as far as I know. In NJ if the car is parked no cops will bother you. I haven't had any problems yet with the blue neons and L.E.D.s I have. So go for it if you really or put it on some type of switch so if you don't want it on, you can just kill it.

there isnt a light that doesnt blink. if your talking about the parking light and the signle blinks is because it uses reflectors. there are only two sockets on the back of the headlight in a stock unit

I guess I'm talking about the "parking light".... My signal lights are integrated into my bumper (like an Integra)....

It's an orange bulb with a reflector there.

Yeah, I'm scared some ****'ll think it's too cool and try to steal it or just hurt my car....

I've done some initial tests with the LED just pointing into the reflector area, and DAMN, it's bright... blue light all over.

Actually, the inside of my car is going to have an "LED laser" thing that'll displays "SECURITY" onto my interior... (www.varad.com)

Bulbs?? What bulbs? If you're talking about the blue LED thing this thread is about, I got it from a local car shop. It's a Varad LED, so you should be able to pick it up from anywhere, or the net.

If you're talking about my "signals integrated into my bumper, like an Integra" comment, it's because I drive an Acura EL, very similar to the Civic EX sedan. Check my member's pics for a look. I like the lines alot more, but we lack aftermarket support (i.e. custom hoods, grilles, and headlights are necessary if you want something other than stock.)

One thing's for sure, if you've got 'em on and blinking, make sure you're not on a city road even parked. There's no problem if you're on privately owned property i.e. someone's driveway, parking lot etc..
