K20a2 rev limiter at 5500k rpm?

Hey guys I wanted to ask this question on acuraworld but was looking around and saw that they weren't as mechanically inclined then my personal experience on civic forums but anyways.

I had just bought a 2002 rsx type s and I notices that when I'm in neutral and I try to redline it , it seems to limit at around 5500 rpm Is this some sort of rev limiter? Should I watch out for it? Is it 2 step???

From the RSX service manual:

When the vehicle is stopped, the ECM/PCM cuts the fuel at engine speeds over 5,500 rpm.
