So I work at General Motors, right. . .
I'm an Office Manager at the Allison Transmission Division of General Motors, in the Baltimore Plant (hey, gotta make ends meet, and there aren't any Honda plants near here). The plant manufactures the 1000 series automatic transmission that goes in superduty .5 - 1 ton trucks (superduty Sierras, etc., as well as many large vehicles overseas). Anyway, regardless of where I work, I'm an import 2NR at heart, and this is evident in my office. So I'm busy working last friday afternoon, and this COUNTRY BUMPKIN walks by my office, stops, makes it a point to come in, and all this just so that he can comment on the xenon body kit pictures on my board as follows: "Whatcha got them rice-rockit pictures up fer? I know you don' t like them damn for'in cars, do ya? Doggone GM employee, with them rice rockit pictures up on yer wall, ought to be 'shamed o' yerself. . ." He follows this with the most God-awful UGLY toothless smile I've ever beheld. Not wanting to cause a scene, I simply chuckled (read: held my RAGE) and asked casually, "what do you drive sir?" to which he responded, "Got me an Avalanche this past weekend!" Now I must say that the Avalance does have it's strong points (though I'd take the Escalade XLT over it anyday, based on appearance). However, I simply asked him how much he new about cars. "Well, I can change my own oil, an' I always put in that high-grade gas. . ." I stopped him there and politely imparted that he should come back to me to discuss automobiles when he found out what the difference was between a piston and a camshaft. He looked a little confused, but said "Have yerself a nice eve'nin" and departed. Once I was done fuming, I did have a hearty laugh about it. Interesting what catches peoples attention, nowadays, isn't it?

Things like this make me so glad that we have uniforms here. If not, I'd have been in a tie, and he'd have been in flannel with tight jeans and a belt-buckle the size of a serving dish, with cowboy boots and spurs, no doubt.

dont see why he cant respect your opinion and your thoughts about import tuning. if he likes domestics, let it be.. if you like imports, let it be also. just because someone else has a different opinion on something, doesnt give you a right to make fun of them or the thing they're into

haha, that's funny. there is a guy on s2ki.com who owns an S2000 and works for at GM as a tech or something like that. except everyone there loves his car. he's probably converted all of them to "rice-rockets" lol.
And here's a run in I had with a redneck in a truck last night that I posted on s2ki.com
