Oh. Someone who reads about the SRT, KNOWS that it's 205HP is at LOW boost levels. Much like my shadow. Stock on it was 7 psi. Think of what happens to that 205HP when you DOUBLE the boost (like my shadow)....Or MORE than double the boost. Let me tell you, there is a HUGE difference between 7psi (stock on the shadow) and when I cranked it up to 18psi. Not a good idea though, because i'm running a stock fuel system. But it moves....

before i answer this let me state that i totally agree with DOHCscreamer about the disrespect.....name calling is real mature, let me tell you!

However man, In my opinion its still a neon, its resale value is still next to nuttin and its still slow.... Just becasue its got a DOHC doesnt mean its faster, becasue its not....I not gonna say anything more than that, because thats what i think.

um any more boost and that engine will go poof, the tranny will go clank clank, and the car will look like one of those cars in a cartoon when the wheels go flying of and it falls onto its frame. I must remind you, MOPAR parts.....ez as that.

Thanks for the agreement on the disrespect...but..once again..statements like yours about the neon SRT falling apart are bunk. WHat do you base this on?

That motor can handle much more than stock boost levels. I DOUBT the tranny will go clunk. HIGHLY doubt it. Prove to me that it will!
My experience with CHrysler turbos is that they are MUCH more stout/reliable than any 4 cylinder i've encountered.

My neon. IS faster than an EX. No doubt. It doesnt have anything to do with 2 cams. It has to do with the fact that the car is much lighter, has a better final drive, and more HORESPOWER. A stock base 2 door SOHC 5 speed should beat/if not run even with a stock EX.

Yes, your right about neon resale. That is why I got mine USED. It's already taken the big hit. It *had* low miles, and was cheap.

Neons respond much better to mods than the Civic does.

I've raced 4 2k1 EX's...and not one has beaten me. It has nothing to do with driver skill. MugenracerX has Mad driving skills, yet, I was able to beat him. WHen I'm able to pull in every gear, that tells me something.

I've put 25,000 miles on in less than a year so far...that car has been from Chicago to Indy, Detroit, GR, the UP, and back numerous times...

Dudes, stfu.....i tried racing a stock non-r/t neon the other night from a roll and got owned pretty badly.....he got the jump cuz he was pretenting he wasn't gonna go, but at the end he had like a 3 car lead.... Both of us were autos. I had 1 passenger, he didn't. In my opinion the neon is the faster car...a statement which is backed up by both the torque and horsepower numbers. Get your heads out of your asses and recognize when someone has a relatively quick ride.

And about the "screaminDOHC isn't allowed here because he doesn't have a car like us" comments....remember, you're not in grade school anymore. He has some valuable knowledge about cars therefore he is welcome on this board.

God, you guys are embarrassing sometimes....

BTW, the rims are alright...not my style, but they're old-school so they get the respect.

I feel bad for the owner of the Neon.
As a forum I believe we should atleast have some kindness to show to other people.
Oh I'm sorry maybe he doesn't have a Honda Civic, too bad I guess his Neon can't keep up with your 1.7 SOHC's.
But when push comes to shove and the ones talking smack lay it down on the track, he's probably going to kick your *** with his turbo. So lighten up, I really don't think its good to make enemies in this scene. If you can get along with people you will find yourself in ALOT less trouble.

I have a guy who drives by my house everyday in his primered home made body kit 3rd gen integra with a loud exhaust, he stopped by the other day to check out my Si, did I dis the dude and make fun of his car? No. Did I know what he ran 1/4 mile? No. For all I know he could hand my *** to me at the line.

You may not be a fan of Domestics, but lets just try to get along with one another, Honda or no Honda.

I had no idea people on this site could be so disrespectful. All of the other forums have other cars on there too such as supra forums. They don't flame and bash the non Supra's. Instead they discuss cars in a civilized way.

hahaha man to many neons here got stripes...kills me, anywho, not a neon lover dude, just dont like em but ur car has that "cool" look to it, might be wrong choice of word but its all that came to me at 5am. As for the rims, not MY style but then again is that MY neon?? nope.
