Rep Power: 0 I read an artical on AutoWorld....
They tested the 127HP w/Auto, and it ripped through the 1/4 mile in an impressive 17.8s, while reaching a blistering 60mph from standstill in 10.2s.
Watch your back, Hyundai Accent, this Civic is smmmmmmokin'!

That's for the manual transmission. Edmunds got a 16.3 for the EX coupe and a 16.5(I think) for the LX sedan. I'm thinking the coupe might be around 16.4 due to the weight loss. High 17s for the auto tranny is not hard to believe. As I've said before, wheel HP on the auto is probably sub 100HP on the EX!

During track testing, the LX Sedan scooted from 0 to 60 in 8.4 seconds, while the EX Coupe hustled to 60 in an impressive 7.9 seconds. The Sedan swallowed the quarter mile in 16.5 seconds, while the Coupe gulped it down in 16.2. Both models' times were markedly better than those posted by the 2000 LX Sedan we drove in last year's comparison test. In real world driving, the horsepower increase in each engine wasn't readily apparent; both models built up and maintained speed without complaint and passing power was never lacking, just as in last year's Civic. One of our drivers was cognizant, however, of the increase in mid-range torque, which he found delightful.

Also sorry, the article ran the EX in 16.2. If you are running 16.9s, maybe you need to work on your shifting because generally these mags get higher times than is possible with a good driver and broken in car.

Rep Power: 0 1/4 times can vary...
Those 16.2s is probably achievable, under perfect conditions--perfect launch, perfect upshifts at the precise RPM point, empty car, cooler climate, etc....
Likewise for the LX.. automatic times are pretty much engraved in stone though

Rep Power: 394 I've seen a manual LX with intake and exhaust run a 16.8 - 16.9 at the track. I hope I can do better than that.
The LX had 3/4 of a tank of gas, an AEM CAI, a Thermal exhaust system, and nothing else.

Rep Power: 394 We still don't get it! Drag cars run 4's and 5's. Funny cars run 6's and 7's. Pro Stock cars run 8's and 9's. WTF do you mean 6's? The best we can ever, EVER hope for would be maybe 13's.

Rep Power: 0 this whole auto vs. manual thing has been over done a lil...
an ex coupe with stick is said to be low 16's
an ex coupe with auto can therefore be reasonably running high 17's? that makes no sense
on a car such as the lexus is300, the change from to stick from auto shaved off an impressive 0.8 seconds of its quarter mile time. Let me remind you that that car has about 100 hp on us!
the difference from our stick to auto wont be more than a full second, in fact i think its close to 0.5 seconds......
