The green key

hey guys, i did a thorough search and i could find anything, so pls dont flame.

what's that green flashing key when i turn off the car and take the key out of the ignition?

i RTFM and couldnt find anything either.

It has something to do with the chip in the key and code for it, I am pretty sure. It is in the owner's manual somewhere.

if i recall correctly from the dealer's speech about the immobilizer thing, that green key icon will light up if a key has been inserted and tried to be used to start the car that had an invalid code programmed in to it. and i guess it flashes when you turn the car off just to remind you to remove the key.

thats the biggest bunch of crap Ive ever heard.

Its there to let you know your immoblizer system is working correctly. A DETAILED EXPLANATION CAN BE FOUND IN THE OWNERS MANUAL IN YOUR GLOVE BOX. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]

theres a chip in your key so that you cant start the car without it.
fyi keys cost 70 dollars or so to replaceso dont lose it!
