2K1 VS 2K Accord VS 97 ACCORD V6
2001 Civic EX (AUTO)- CAI,DIY CABLE,Y-PIPE (ME!)
2000 Accord LX-CAI,HEADERS(AUTO)
1997 Accord V6- STOCK(AUTO)
The Accord LX Beat me...by a hood length..maybes less..and i beat the accord V6...by almost a full car length...i was pretty suprised..i think i did pretty good. I didnt lose by much, but i still lost...

Rep Power: 0 you forgot the most important thing to making your car faster..More stickers...just a joke. It's hard to be fast in an auto. Your gonna have rev the engine with your foot on the brake then let go or a nasty neutral drop, ouch that'll hurt.

Rep Power: 0 the 95-97 V6 accords are not fast(2.7lt 170 hp) the I4 EX 5speed 94-97 accord(2.2lt 145 hp) is faster the 98-present V6 accords are faster they have 3.0 v6 w/ 200 hp & 195 ftlbs torque

I think I should be able to take my mom out in her benz... its quite heavy. probably as fast as a new gen accord v6 though.
yeah those old accord v6s aren't that hot.
u should have been able to best that lx auto though. maybe not a manual.. but the auto one should be pretty slow.

Rep Power: 0 well, i believe it, i beat a 79 prelude like 3 times in a row(by less than a foot) but i think it was because he was trying to speedshift his auto and didnt know what he was doing.....and our cars are really light

Rep Power: 0 yes the accord V6 was racing...and ya those years V6 arent as quick as the new ones...the difference is 30 hp.....but i was pretty pleased with the results..and yes i broke and gased it from the start to get a better take off...

if people actually knew what they were talking about........the 5th gen accord v6 is close to, if not the slowest one of the bunch. it's a v6, yes, but it weighs a LOT. so a 4 banger ex or a lx can hang with it pretty realistically, if not beat it. the v6 in that one is more for comfort, not for speed. so it makes sense u beat it

Rep Power: 0 Right before I bought my 2k2 Civic EX I had a 95 Accord V-6. And whoever posted the initial stats for it was correct. Its a 2.7L V-6 with 170hp. Its the same V-6 that they used to put in the Legends. Although it is a V6, its not a fast as some people would think. Its definately a lot quiter engine and has smoother accleration. My brother has my Accord now so I still drive it every once in a while. But when I do drive it, it does seem like it is quicker than my Civic. I am suprised that he only beat you by that much though. It is a fairly quick car and is faster than non-modded 4-cyl Accords. It seems as you can feel more of an difference than there really is. Its just too bad Honda is yet to make an Accord with a standard tranmission.. you would have been a gonner for sure.
