Opinion: '03 Si exterior....
What does everyone think about the exterior look of the new SI hatchback? Is it just me or does that thing look sort of like a guppy? Personally, I would take the look of my black '02 coupe anyday. Now the interior....well, that's another story.
I agree, bit it is starting to grow on me. The first time I saw the outside shots, i was about to barf. The interior is definitely tight. I don't know about the rally shift though, i like using my arm rest and not having to move too far to shift...call me lazy if you want
Thats what i think of the new Si...however that's what I thought about the new civic at first. I saw a Xenon kit on one, then I just had to have it.
The Si doesn't do anything it seems to be small and cramped. I think that shifter has to go, probably would be better if it wasn't dash mounted. I'm plenty happy with my civic.
IMO the exterior is nice i like the hatch...the interior is hot....bucket seat, silver trim, leather wraped steering wheel and shift ****, white face gauges(amber at night) and i think the rally style shifter is cool...well i am saying this cause...i'm gettin mines in 2- 4 weeks...
<< btw its the 2002 Si >>
Some people have been calling it a 2003 because it's so late. I always thought it was a 2002 because that what's Honda said it was. Alright so now I know for sure it's a 2002.
Here's my opinion...I think Honda engineers got togethter and said, "Let's see how devoted our following is, we'll design something ugly and see how many ppl buy it". hahaha
I think it's oogly! No offense to Si fans...
The Si is a decongested Type R and came out the *** of Honda of Japan to give only to the U.S. as shaved, low level Type Rs to run around our econo Civics, just to get us hyped about the cool sh't they get to enjoy on their lil' cool island. That's it, I'm movin... with my USDM Integra Type R!
<< it'll be fine if u put on a type-r kit and get some 17in wheels.. the type r is in someone's signature. now that looks good. >>
Who r u talking about?

Hey BLUENVY01, Gotta love the Saleen S7! Haha.. the sig is just a little joke on my behalf. Don't get me wrong everyone, Honda kicks serious a$$, but the S7
... I would drink that things motor oil.

The Type-R is pretty sweet... I guess the Si is an acquired taste, it'll probably grow on me too; But I still prefer our present civs.

I like the whole car inside and out except for the front. Plus, it is supposed to hit 60 in about 7.5 seconds I think, which is quite a bit faster than the other 7th gen vics.
After seeing in over and over again, I have actually started to like it, probably has something to with the fact my wallpaper is a Type-R. Ill probably keep my coupe for several years, maybe one day when I have cash (and if anyone is able to do it) make her a hybrid.
IMHO the front of the new Type-R (not the Si that's just :barf looks pretty nice, but the rear 3/4's of it aren't all the great. Honda traditionally does a good job with interiors, and the new SI is no exception. I sure wish they made the new SI a coupe, though. I think it just looks better. Props to Kaminari for the nice kit they have for 2k1-2k2 coupes, too.

<< the 2k2 Si weighs in around 2800lbs, heavier than a 2k1-2k2 Coupe.
the 99-00 Si weighs in around 2550lbs. >>
Seems like I remember reading that the ex sedans only weight around 2650lbs. Who the hey is getting into the high 7's in a 7th gen vic?
thats hilarious...a hatch is heavier than a sedan...oh boy
there was a past thread u could prob search it up...a dude g-teched 0-60 in his EX 7.7...most people claimed BS but eventually every body believed him I guess
*exact weight for the 2k2 si is 2744/2752 w/side SRS
