My Dad's '65 AC Cobra, almost finished!!!
Well my dad has been working on his AC Cobra kit car since October of last year. Everything on it was done by himself, and with the help of me lol. He just got his wheels and tires on today so hes like a little kid right now.
289 with T5 tansmission, Ford GT heads, Edlebrock cam, Erson roller rockers, Edlebrock intake, dual four barrel Edlebrock carbs, Mallory fuel pump, Mallory unilite distributor
15"x10" rims...1 foot tread width ...lol

Rep Power: 260 damn man the Factory Fives are sick!!! his is an Antique and Colectibles, they went out of business in '96. I tried to get my dad to get the original wheels like yours, but he doesnt have an MSO, and he chopped the frame to fit the body and the wheels spacing is all crazy. The guy that we bought it from, bought it new right before the comapny went out of business and all they shipped him was the body. He had to buy another frame from a different company and we dont have any papers so he may not even be able to ride it, legally.
But he will probably sell this one and get a Hurricane Motorsports kit, but that kit will have 427, Hallibrant wheels, exhaust like your dads. What engine your dads has?

Rep Power: 287 we have a mild 302 in it now and we are starting a 460 build this winter. yes a 12in rubber stripe on the road is very sexy. i was driving it the other day and stomped on it in second and broke em loose and kicked it sideways, scared the **** out of me lol.
its fun being on the other side of it. we get attention from the 4 year old who looks at it and goes speed racer to the grandpa who goes is it real with a big smile on his face.
some advice for you, people will always ask if its real or not. i always respond with this question. are silicon breasts real? they look at you funny and respond with a sheepish yes. lol

i would bet its fun being on the other side, we didnt bring it to shows or anything yet cuz its not finished but hopefully within a month or two it will be done. the main thing he has left is finish wiring it up. asspile of wires lol
yah ppl asked a few times if its real or not, and i am like uhhhh negative. i dont live in a mansion, i dont wear suits to play football, so why would i own and build a $100,000+ car???? then once they know its a kit they dont think much of it. guess they just dont understand.
hey did your dad get his painted, or is it one of the ones that come out the mold the color you want. i know my dad mentioned some of the newer ones you can request a color you want it from the manufacturer.

Rep Power: 287 no we had ours painted by the egyptian. this guy has been painting hot rods since the 50's and everyone he has done is a show winner. cost almost 17,000
i love just taken it to shows and talking with people. i know what you mean when you tell them its a kit some will just end the conversation right then and there, but some are still into the car and will talk your ear off about cars. i was at a show one day kept getting the people who when they found out it was a kit they just walked away. so i started asking them what car they brought to the show and not one had anything better than an 81 honda lol

Rep Power: 260 amen my brother. i know how hard my dad worked on that car and most important how much he enjoyed it, but he just likes building it not really riding it after lol.
+1 for you too repping the cobras. i got a pretty sweet Cobra shirt, but forgot where it came from. if i find it i will let you know i think it was only 15 bucks.

Rep Power: 287 yeah building it was half the fun. thats the reason for the big block. we were looking into supercharging it but that was gonna be to easy and we still wouldnt have the rumble of a big block so we decided to build the big block and then put the 302 in a miata for another fun roadster
