hey wuts up i heard of the veloz and checked it out, i don't think its worth its price, or acutally maybe it is, but i'm thinking of putting on aftermarket stuff, so i don't really need all the extra stuff, i'm going to have a hard time convicingin my parents to help me finance a SI-G
<< SpdRcrChk you got leather and floormats and an EX for $16700?? that's a pretty good deal...... My car was $18,900 and it didn't even come with the floormats.... >>
hey... i bought my 2k2 civic ex for 18g's flat.. cash in full. don't get me wrong i like honda "the car" but i don't want the dealers to get one cent of my money. Thats why i paid in cash, the dealers makes money off of u when u finace the car (also when u see the FnI guy.. he tries to sell u all the usless crap like alarms and crap... ) anyways i worked at a dealership (emarrassed to say a FORD dealership) but they work the same way. its cheaper just to buy the car and nothing else.. u can get the oem spoilers for cheaper then buying it from the dealership.. alarms, the dealer tells u that u'll break warranty if u don't get it from honda and get it from some where else..but thats BS get it from an alarm shop ...it be much cheaper. honda don't make alarmsor remote starts only keyless entry. so don't listen when they say its from honda.. the get a third party company to come and install it for u.. and the dealership pockets half of the money. anyways this isn't just for honda dealerships.. this is all dealerships. i don't want anyone waste their money on these dealerships telling u BS.
If you're planning to mod it, I'd have to agree with neocivicracer. Too many things to worry about if you lease and the car comes back different. If you're sure you can pay it off when your lease is over, I'd say go for it. How long do you plan on keeping the car?
The thing I didn't like about a lease is that you don't get to own the vehicle after X years. One thing lease people want you to believe is that you're much more 'protected' if you get into a lease... but if it's a new car it has all sorts of warranties (unless you go and void them like some folks on this site) and you can get insurance to cover the rest. All in all, though, I made a 10k downpayment, $2500 of that being my own, $7500 being from my parents which I have to pay off. The rest is all done in automatic withdrawls from my account. I might be paying for it for years and years, but the fact of the matter is - I'll have a car all to myself after all those payments... UNLIKE a lease... you still have nothing after all d'em payments.
Not that I'm saying leasing is no good, it's great to get people who can't afford new cars into new cars (coz lets face it some people need new cars hehe)... I'm 20, though, so the need to work towards owning something is a big thing for me... since my current worldly possessions consist of a computer, and a bed, and a few thousand worth of electronics and furniture. It'll be nice to trade my civic in for a nice huge downpayment on my next car purchase. That'll feel alot better than this one did
My 2 cents

<< I got my 2002 EX Civic Coupe for $15,830 and he "threw" in the floormats as well. Devee.. I am curious to know how you get a 2002 EX for $15,300 when cost on a 2-door Civic is $15,530. Not accusing, just wondering how you got them below cost. A dealer pays the same for a Civic from Honda regardless where they are or how many they sell. . >>
I know...thats what pissed em off so bad.
Another dealer quoted 15350...and they were like "WHAT? thats below invoice!" And I just said "okay then..if you cant beat it..im leaving" and I got up and was gonna leave.. like i said.. they just said..ok..50 bucks off..hehehe Hey netcbc,
I also live in markham and just bought a 02 lx coupe from toronto honda... The canadian MSRP on the car is 18,100 for the 5 spd.
Here is the deal they gave me:
Base price: $16,800 (1,300 off msrp)
Air Tax: $100
Freight/PDI: $850
Admin: $125
For a total of $17,875.... that's canadian dollars folks... approximately $11,000 usd. And don't forget, that the cdn lx coupe has a few more features than the american model (e.g. 15" wheels ). Isn't it great to be canadian???
If you want the same deal, email me and I'll contact the sales manager.... and for the referral, I'll get $100....

whats yoru e-mail? if your telling me thats the total price you can get, i mean like total with everythign, tax, and like everything you can add, thats the final total, holly crap i need your e-mail and help, i went to dealership, they started me off at 22,000 including tax and everything and thats the price to start negotiating.
it was 17875 + gst/pst (came to about $20,600 including full tank of gas and registration) which is still only about $12,800 usd (everything included). I haven't seen anyone in the US getting that kind of pricing. It's just cheaper to buy cars in canada factoring in the exchange rate. A friend of mine is buying the 2003 nissan 350z track version for $45,900 cdn -- that's about $28,500 usd (almost $7000 usd cheaper than US version). The dealership is making him sign a 'no export' clause however....
email me if you want more info on the pricing that i got

i'll e-mail you, i'll need as much info as possible cause i have had a few dealers willing to beat any price i get if in the end i do go to your guy, i'll refer you so you can get your $100, thanks yo!
Paid 16,400 for a 2k1 civic sedan silver in sept... but then the dealership screwed up the math on the tax and everything so I only paid 16,500 for it instead of the 17,500 or something.. I dont know what they did but I paid them whatever they told me I owed them..

i just emailed all the dealers around me. and told them to give me their lowest price for what ever you want.
Ex coupe 5sp msrp 16900
i paid 15500 - 100 over cost

The canadian SI coupe is equivalent to the american ex coupe, right??
If you go to the honda canada website
you'll see that the MSRP for the 5 spd model is $19,900 cdn dollars.
1 us dollar = 1.61 cdn dollars these days. That means the MSRP in us dollars for the SI coupe is $12,360 us dollars.
More than $3000 us dollars cheaper than american dealer invoice!! Why?? Not that I compaining or anything....
I don't understand why people just don't order their cars from Canada?? they'd save a bundle.

I drove from Hamilton to Markham to buy my 2K1 LX sedan, no one else could beat their price so I think you're looking in the right spot. I was dealing with the fleet sales manager to avoid the pushy salesman B.S. Paid $19,100 with auto (for wife) and spoiler. That's $12,062 U.S. dollars!!!! Remember a Canadian LX has the upgraded interior, colour matched mirrors and door trim, pdl, pw, heated mirrors, and ABS. That's a lot of car for the money. I'm not sure but I think ABS isn't available on 2K2 LX models (si only) so a used or demo 2K1 might be worth looking at. I can give you the details when you're serious about buying and shop around a little. Lot's of Honda dealers in the GTA man so have a little fun playing them against each other.
Since 1.9% financing avail until end of month, I plan to finance practically the whole amount ($17000) paying less than 1% over invoice for EX sedan auto w/ side air bags).
Based on 3 years, payments $486.18.
Hopefully, I'll invest the principal and make much more than 1.9% over the next few years - assuming the market doesn't crash again!
