If you look at all the performance upgrades on the C6 z06 you can almost classify it as a supercar. It does 0-60 faster than a Mercilago and costs about 120k less. You have Carbon fiber fenders and hood. A 500hp 7litre engine in the 2nd lightest production sports car, 1st being Porsche. And what other cars can you by that has a race proven dry sump oil system for 65k? An Evo is never gonna have the presence of this z06. If you parked this z06 next to an Evo in the parking lot what car do you think everyone will notice first? Zo6. It just looks sleak. I saw this car at the auto show last week and with the huge fender flares this car looks amazing.

um.. i really do love the skyline and all but... are you smoking? can you get a skyline r34 or anything close to it for around $65k? i think not, especially now that they're not legal anymore to bring over to the states if you didnt know. and regardless of what you say. a stock skyline will never be able to beat the z06. MAYBE on track. but everything else no. dont get me wrong i freekin love the way the skylne looks and EVERYTHING about it. but you just can't compare the skyline to the z06 man no matter how you look at things. they're just on two completely different levels. oh and i'm not saying jap = crap.

im not going to argue this stuff. it was just dumb of him to say jap is crap when the vette is the only good thing that domestics can make besides trucks.

Do the words Lingerfelter (http://www.lingenfelter.com/C6corvettescic.htm) mean anything to you? For everyone talking about Skylines and Evos, the Z06 is a for adults, not kids (or people w. their mentality) for people who don't need hoodscoops and BOV sounds every time they shift. Next thing somebody is going to start talking about stripping a CRX and swapping in a turboed B18 and have it run 11s for under 20 grand and blah blah blah, this car is a presently one of the most impressive things on the market, and for the price, I'd say that it is -the- most impressive.

hahaha people here just have no idea, i dont think he knows about the Lingerfelter Vette. i dont know why people keep mentioning suped up rice rockets (i'm talking quite literally). if you compare stock for stock, lets say a skyline r34 vspecII or an nsx, both of which cost more to have in the US, both over $90k, would both get raped on by the new Vette Z06 if some of you had no idea. Japanese cars are great no doubt, but you can't be all ignorant about it and say japanese cars are like the fastest things on the planet or something.

you might not know this, but you can easily obtain a skyline r32/r33 for $20-$40,000 in america. you just have to look at the right places.

but i agree that comparing the z06 to anything that is highly modified wouldn't be a fair comparison. take your $20,000-in-mods-evo8 and put $20,000 in mods to a z06 and see who wins in a race, straight line or otherwise.

Even the Z06 owns in the turns too beating the R34 in the slalom 60.8 mph to the vettes 65.5 mph and in the skid pad with the skyline only pulling .89g to the vettes astounding 1.02g. (Edmunds and Road and Track Tests)

i never mentioned the R32 to or R33, i was talking about the R34 if you read it. and i know the R32 and R33 are much cheaper. and the R33 is the crappiest of the 3 if you didnt know.

when can we stop comparing the Z06 to a Skyline aside from price? The bottom line is, the Z06 is fast in turns and on the straights compared to anything in that price range. Someone mentioned leaf springs, ok, it still gets the job done on the track though. This is becoming close to import vs. domestic all over again. C6 and C6 Z06 are both nice cars and.... that is that.
