Say what you will about the 2002 Si/SiR, but the Civic Type R looks darn good. And is that a digital display in the dash ?!? :

the Type R looks soooo much better than the SI (as in doesn't look like a minivan)
have you guys seen the A&L SI? (adam sarus..... with the NSX guy)
it has a jackson SC with air-to-liquid IC and suspension work and all that good stuff. lucky bastard, honda gave him one for free

Lookswise the Type R just looks like a modded SiR/Si... It still looks like a minivan, but it has skirts on it

Only 4500 miles too. Shifting with your left hand will be a real byotch to get used to though. Can you even register a car with right-side steering wheel in the States?

you can have the steering wheel anywhere you please. all that matters is that you drive on the correct side of the road

What Street Tuners had to say about the new 200 hp CTR:

<< Street Tuners sources who have driven the 2002 Civic Type R have come away with some startling reviews. Hold on now. The 2002 Civic Type R beats the current integra Type R in every area of performance. Yes that is right. The 2002 Civic Type R will be the new world beater. From sheer power to handling the new Type R Civic has the upper hand on the current Champion. .......... Mate this power to a 6 speed manual close-ratio gear box with a quicker shifter and you can easily see why the 2002 Civic Type R will beat the current champ the Integra Type R in ever arena of performance from straight line to the road course curcuit. Street Tuners sources who have driven the 2002 Civic Type R tell of the quicker steering which is something compared to the Integra Type R. Some how the engineers have found a way to improve on the current Champ . This chassis is the complete package designed to establish who is the boss in the Tuner world when it comes time for performance. No other car in this price range will come close to competing with the 2002 Civic Type R . >>

That last sentence is the real clincher: "... No other car in this price range will come close to competing with the 2002 Civic Type R" ...

No, sorry it isn't. They just put an insert in there because they didn't put a headunit in. Sorry to burst your bubble.

And the little note about the CTR and RTR, page 24 of the March MT

gh3y!! Why would you put an engine made for a hatchback in your Coupe man? For price vs. hp ratio, id take the GS-R over the Civic Type R engine any day unless i had an EK hatch and trying to make it into a CTR replica. But whatever your choice
