How long have you waited for maintenance/repair?

I read an article on Autoweek about how Honda's service isn't as quick as its competitors. I was just wondering how long have you had to wait to get your car fixed/schedule your appointment ahead of time?

In the article there was a mention of a 3-4 week backup for appointments...

I personally think Honda has let their legend precede them and they have to catch up with other companies now to become better.
Despite Honda's service headaches, in the J.D. Power 2004 Customer Service Index study, Honda Division moved up to No. 14 on the list, compared to No. 19 in 2003.
Good, but I'd expect Honda to be in the top 10...

Big Rob has a little shameless behaviour in the past
2 weeks. Understandable considering that I did $7,000 worth in damages when I got in a wreck.

of course other companies like GM or Ford are better at SERVICING vehicles, because they have FAR MORE to service. lol. they're used to having to fix their cars all the time.

1 month when my car was in the body shop. 1 week of it, was just sitting waiting for parts. They said 3 weeks but it took them about 4 weeks to do. This is on my old Pontiac. On my Honda, 1 week in the body shop.

Anyways.
I can attest to Honda being slow. I have brought my car to 3 different dealerships in my years of owning the car. All of them suck on the promptness scale. I brought the car in for an oil change, nothing else. I wondered around the lot one time for an hour, went back to the advisor, asked him if car was done, yea it didnt move from the moment I brought it in. That happened to me on a couple occassions. Pisses me off the most, cause I make an appointment, and my time is more valuable than me sitting at a damn dealer.
But on the otherhand, have had the best service ever bringing in the Dodge for an oil change, appointment or not. 30 minutes in and out at the Dodge dealer.

I know what you're saying. You would think that since they sell so many cars, I mean, their 2 main cars are in the top 10 selling vehicles, so they should be able to service a ton of them at any given time.

I had to set an appointment for an interval service and oilchange a week and a half earlier to match my schedule, then the actual service took at least 3-4 hours, including the wait. I roamed the used lots and looked at every damn accesory for every Honda...

The time it takes to know whats wrong with the car when you bring it in with a CEL is sloooooooooow...

Fastest service I received at my dealership is less than 1 hour to replace motormounts.

I usually make deals with the service guys like "I'm in a hurry so if my car isn't done by 1pm you owe me a free oil change for next time."

They've always been on time =)
