I know that I had read several threads that protain maintence issues like CV boot being torned or rack and pinion falling off etc. Well you guys, to prevent this, I strongly advise ya'll to do just regular check ups on your car once per week or month. I'm not saying that you should bring it to some shop to do a 1001 point inspection or something like that, what I'm trying to say is that you should take the responsibility to keep your car in top shape. Like crawling underneath the car to check for leaks, lose screws, getting into your seat and testing the gears (Those with auto), brakes, popping the hood checking all the fluids etc...its the same stupid shiet that is used in the military to do general check ups on humvees. And if you find anything that is beyond your level to repair then its common sense to take it to a shop. Well, I just hope this helps.

1. Keep a maintenance journal in your glovebox, I use a $1 notebook of index cards.
2. Change your own oil so that every few months you can check your undercarriage while you're down there.

some of us take off our rims for the winter, thats a perfect time to check the cv joints, brakes and suspension components. I have a 2001-2003 maintenance book that tells you all the torque specifications and procedures to follow. I highly recommend it, i bought it on ebay for like $30.
