The GM ones that I've seen are kinda hard to see when there's glare on the windshield....Not too sure about the aftermarket ones

the more guages and stuff the better, but not really a huge fan of an ebtire HUD, expecially tachs there just not as accurate as a needle, due to the fact that its all led's. there always a frac tion of a second behind.

the reason alot of them are a fraction of a second behind is becuase they go by 100's rpms.

spendy, but cool HUD option. not sure if i'd want to drop that kind of money over a stereo upgrade though

when do you plan on doing this? You must post pics of it, both working on it, and the final result.

I believe the new HUDs use a dot matrix display which would be much more accurate then the LED bar type tachs your thinking of. You can even show an analog tach on the HUD. Pretty sure the response time would be just as quick or quicker than a needle. As I haven't experienced it though, I'm only speculating.

PlasmaGT is on a distinguished road
I have HUD in my 240sx. It only came in the coupe not the fastback, but I found it for cheap in the junk yard and swapped it in.

When are you planning on doing this. You should make a good DIY for this project! Really the new ones on the vette are actually pretty easy to see during the day. I've only seen one occasion where there was a problem seeing it and we guessed that it was due to the sun being at the exact angle where it shined down into the unit and made it go away for just a second, then came right back.
