interesting.. how was tiburon even mentioned? :\

of the cars listed.. 350Z would be nice.. but I've had a thing for rotary power since the good old days of the turbo2 2nd gen Rx7's..

if I had the money, I'd either go Evo VIII, Audi A4, or maybe even GTI R32..

The cars you listed are very different from one another - they really can't be compared. It really depends on what your priorities are?

I will say that the 8, for me, is pure driving nirvana. I just can't believe how good the car is. No, it's not going to win you many stoplight races. But if that's your thing, it's not the car for you anyway.

The 8 is an amazingly well-balanced machine, with every detail from the suspension engineering to control placement designed to make you "one with the machine." The car "dances" with you in a way that's hard to describe.

The best thing about it is it's a very practical, civilized, and easy-to-drive car when you're just running out to get groceries or pick up a pizza. The super-smooth power delivery and supple suspension are perfect for daily commuting. But when you want to turn things up a few notches, it adapts perfectly to that too. It may weight 3,000 pounds, but all the weight is pushed towards the center, so it FEELS like it weights 500 pounds as far as handling goes. Turn the wheel and there's no hesitation, no slop at all.

Milage ain't great. I get around 18-19 with hard mixed city/highway driving.

There isn't much of an aftermarket for it yet though, so if you want something to modify, you might be disappointed (or be patient). MazdaSpeed has some stuff available though.

Check out http://www.rx8club.com. It's a great resource.

Even better: take one for a test drive!

Thumbs up

agreed with HeelnToe, just test drive a Mazda RX8 yesterday, no doubt it justified why it beat out the G35 in both Car n Driver/Automobile magazine for the best sports coupe (not to mention Motorweek for the 350Z)
its light as a feather n a driving nirvana, perfectly balance with quick reflexes and awesome breaks with precise short throw 6speed manual!!! u will 4get it hav a 1.3 liter Rotary engine!!! imagine what u can do to a 2950lbs car with 238hp if the full line of Mazdaspeed parts will be available!!!

p.s. got to hear the warning tone everytime you come near the 9000rpm redline and the unique sound only a Rotary engine can produce!!!! not to mention the impressive interior making a 350z look like sumting made from china!!!!

really recommend this one!!! plus lyk u said it u got added discount compared to the Z or Tiburon!!!

238hp rx8......that dynos at 170-180 to the wheels......

the rx8 either has a huge drivetrain loss or mazda is severely overrating the #'s......i'm sure most of us have heard of the problem of Mazda overating the rx8's.

Im not making these #'s up either......check out www.rx8club.com and actually read the posts with real dyno #s.

STI, EVO8 power and 4 seats if thats what's keeping you from the Z but I doubt it. Rx-8 I still have yet to see one at the strip under 15 . The Z is pimp a 68-70 Camaro SS matching numbers and all would be sickning be ready to shell out the cash though but if your willing do it Go for it!
