Best New or Used Cars for under $20k?

I'm trying to sell my 2002 civic ex, it has almost 50k miles on it but they are all highway. Anyway, i'm hoping to get about 11-12 thousand for it. Then i plan on buying another car since i don't really want the civic anymore. What is a good/reliable but fast car for under 20k. I was considering an RSX Type S.

Also, where is a good place to buy them. Local dealers, Ebay, or Private Owners?

if you want something reliable that's 'pre-owned', stay away from sports car models like the type-s.

i'd say keep going with another civic or get a mazda protege.

here's some that I'm considering myself also, RSX-S, Mazda Protege Speed, Mini Cooper S, VW GTI VR6/1.8T/20th AE, Scion xB (brand new), Audi TT...but of course me being 20 I'm aiming for one that'll give me a nice low insurance rate...so it'll cancel some of those out...dunno about u

NaHoOnEyYa, I don't know, I think the Millenia is more refined than the Accord in a lot of ways, plus its got a really nice ride. The supercharged engine makes for a lot of power on demand as well.

Yeah i am really looking for a new car, or an extremely low milage used car, i don't really want a high-milage car. I'm still thinking an RSX Type-S if i can get a good deal on it. I think it is a bit more roomy than the prelude, although i'll have to look into the prelude also.

You could find a pretty nice, lower mileage fun sports car like an MR2 or Miata. But the RSX Type S is a solid choice.

for under 20 g's. Go for a gti vr6. or a very used audi 4 or 6 .. i would rather go for the 2.7 supercharge audi myself.

I just drove an RSX-S that was forsale for $18K. It was a sweet car, and if i had the money, I would have traded my car in for it in a second.

Private Seller is usually always the best, then dealers, especially the same brand that you are buying.

I would never consider buying a car off the internet.
