lol... nothing quite says "I'm a filthy stinkin rich bastard with a good heart" than a jesus fish on a mcl F1...
I just find it funny how "Christians" forget the whole point of charity and such... what did Jesus say when the tax collector wanted to follow him? Sell all your posessions and give away all your money... "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to pass into the gates of heaven."

matthew was the tax collector and he was one of the diciples...the person in the story you were referring was a rich but gentle person who wanted to follow the Lord...he asked Him what he needed to do in order to get into the kingdom of Heaven...and the Lord said to give everything he owns and follow Him...
i'm sorry to say but for some people who don't believe, they quickly can find ways to demean God...don't do that...The person who owns the car believes and he / she is happy to let people know that so don't knock him down...

But he doesn't follow because he doesn't want to get rid of his belongings... so the point is the same... he wasn't gentle. He was all about the gold.

just because he has a big expensive vehicle does not make him a "non christian." if that were the case, all christians would be homeless living in filth. the Bible does not say to give everything you own to charity. i give 10% of all of my pay checks to the church, missions, etc.
Yup, that is how the pastors/priests get to drive more expensive cars than a majority of their "flock". That guy is probably the pastor of this Baptist church I saw in Houston one time. They actually had the police out escorting traffic into and out of the parking lot, the whole road was shut down so they could go give the guy money and be told they are sinners.

I don't make the rules and I didn't say he wasn't a Christian... I'm just saying I think it's funny... Christianity was intended as a faith for the meak, poor and oppressed... At least that's what JC talks so much about... Your 10% is tithing which is a Catholic manifestation... I didn't make the words. I'm just pointing out that if someone wants to "flaunt" their faith, he could probably find a way that wasn't so hypocritical (according to the bible)... Hey, I don't believe anyway so it makes no difference to me if you are rich or what you do with your money....

and which church is that? Do you actually think that God cares about material wealth? That money means anything to Him? No, it means alot to the churches that dupe you into giving them money....
I think Oral Roberts still needs that $90Million or God is gonna call him home.....
Worship God (whichever form it may be), not your pastor.

Taking particular verses and not understanding their context is actually how some cults get started. By the way, tithing is not a catholic manifestatation as you so boldly stated. If you read the old testament it says plain as day to give your first 10% to the lord. God does not call christians to be poor, meak and oppressed. In fact he raises up some people to be millionares and billionares, just so they can bless the church. So please for your own sake, stop talking about things you know very little about.

Just incase I say something that really offends people. Let me apologize right now...."I'm Sorry"
As far as religion goes, it's the hardest thing to talk about and or debate about. I am a realist. I don't belive in things that can't be proven, but I let most people go no there way, except for the people that say I will go to hell for using Jesus's name in vein (sp?).
As for the car, I am assuming it's a privately owned car. If that's so, let it be. There's no reason a christian can't break laws or drink or anything. Although some people do push it to the extremes, why let a religion limit what you do in life. Makes no sense to me.

It's his car. When we all have million dollar cars, we can worry about what is on the bumper or grille or whatever. He still has a million dollars car and we don't.
And as for the saying about the rich man getting to heaven and the poor man through the eye, it doesn't say rich people can't get to heaven. It means that people tend to let material things cloud their view. If this guy is grounded and appreciative enough of his Christianity to put a Jesus Fish on his McLaren F1, good for him.
