Well, I don't know what to call her.... but "my friend" thinks its cooler that I know how to fix my car and that I can drive the hell out of it, over the fact that it looks nice.
I dig the fact she knows how to drive stick.
It all works out nicely.
I don't know exactly what quantifies a "nice" car to a girl. For the most part I think it would be the initial sticker price and reputation over the $15K you threw into a $14000 car.

Rep Power: 390 I can tell you from a female's point of view, when her man's got a nice ride; it makes her feel like she's the bomb. LoL. And all the girl's who's boyfriend's have crappy-*** cars envy her. It's like a "status" thing for some girls.
Me.....I really could care less what car my fiancè drives. When him and I first got together, he had just gotten the Civic like 2 months beforehand. We took car of that car like it was one of our children. I'd help him spend hours cleaning it and makin' it look hot to death! I purchased his exhaust, half of his suspension and various other things that made the car what it was.
Now we have the WRX. I helped him buy the car with the money I had saved for my own car. He needed to get rid of the Civic, so I helped him out. As soon as we can get some funds together, I'm gonna help him do somethings to that car, as well.
I love everything about cars. I consider it just as much my hobby, as he does his. It makes me feel important when he lets me help him do things to the car (helping him put the body kit on.....etc.). I don't know a lot of techinical things, but I can definitely hold my own in a conversation. I'd say for such a girly-girl like myself, I'm pretty damn knowledgeable when it comes to cars.

C'mon. . . I've owned several cars. . . and the Civic is hardly one that takes a lot of money to do things to. I guess it depends a lot on where we're talking and what age group.
I'd be damned to find a 32 year-old woman who'd be impressed with a Civic in my driveway.
Hell, even my STi wouldn't seem very expensive to the average woman past the age of, say. . . 25.
Now to a 16-20 year-old. . . . okay, some Civics MAY seem like they're baller. . . . but I doubt it.
When Civics and the like are in question, I think it's more what's in the car than the car itself. I could throw $15k in mods at a Civic. .. easily. But it's still a Civic. Take that $15k and put a down payment on a G35 coupe (because it's obviously so freakin' popular on this board) and leave it completely stock. . . . . and you'll still get 230985 times more attention from the girls / ladies / women . . . assuming money is the driving force, here.

Rep Power: 390 I think with most females these days, if you told them what a K20 swap was (or any kind of forced induction or engine swaps) and explained to them how much more power the car would gain and then explained to them how much money it costs to do that; it really wouldn't matter because the car is still a Civic. I'll tell you, most women do not grasp the concept of power. All they see are $$$$. So showing off your STi (or any other high powered car) wouldn't do much. Now if you had a nice BMW or Mercedes or something else comparable, they'd be all over you.

Told her I was going to buy an STi and she practically wanted to go for it when we were walking around in Best Buy. And since we've been going out for quite a while, I know for a FACT she was never dating me for my car. The fact that she was more turned-on by the STi than the 2002 BMW 330i our friend got a couple months before told me she's a keeper!

Rep Power: 0 i think that it all comes down to a couple things for chicks. 1) they think that if you have enough money to make your ride look pimp, you should have no problem spending your cash on them. 2) For the most part, girls love attention. if your ride is nice enough to get attention from them they think they will get the same if they are in it with you.
here in germany, most girls LOVE americans. or at least the idea of being with one. my wife hates to ride with me because everywhere we go the girls and pretty much everyone stares hard as hell. its funny to me though.

We always kid about how hot they are by the size diamond you would have to get... i.e. She's a 4-carat, Pam Anderson is like a 10-carat...etc... Anyway, chicks dig money, being taken care of, etc. No doubt about it, but I may be in the wrong place to make a fair judgement
