civic or lancer?
Ok sorry if this has already been asked I was to lazy to search.
I was just curious to wich is faster 02 lx civic coupe 5spd or 03 lancer 4dr just base model 5spd? The reason Is my mom just got a brand new lancer and cant wait to take it for a spin.

Rep Power: 0 Even the Lancer OZ edition (is that what it's called?) is going to lose to the Civic. The upcoming OZ edition with the 160hp engine will beat the Civic though. Lancer has more drag, is heavier. Among other stuff.

Rep Power: 339 Hmm... according to Car and Driver, Lancer should win. It's not only about HP though. I would think base Lancer would be slightly faster due to less weight.

Rep Power: 0 thats probably what he means...the ralliart will be pretty quick, unfortionately its not awd...that'd be worth it. But the OZ Rally model is just OZ wheels and i think some interior adds and a spoiler...no different power

Rep Power: 0 well my friend got a new lancer (non evo 4 door, auto) and when i had my auto 2001 dx we raced a few times and i always beat him, unless his car engine wasnt broken into yet i dont think they are very fast oh yah this was when my car was stoick as well.

The lancer is a decent car, Unfortunitly its a little over weight for the HP that it puts out. The lightest one comes in at 2646 lbs and with only 120Hp........ Thats a lot of weight to push around.
Civic, For a good comparison you have to do the Sedan 4dr Vs 4dr
The Heviest one comes in at 2668 the lightest 2449 with 127 and 115 Hp respectivly.

Rep Power: 0 I thought all civic sedans had 115hp ? anyways my 2001 civic was an auto sedan dx and I always came out betting him. and yah you can feel how heavy it is, when he drove me around sometimes its like when you put heavy rims on our car you can feel the slower acceleration. anyways both cars are relatively slow so

Rep Power: 289 they get the acura el tho. 4wheel disc brakes and leather id take that if honda badged instead of acura. even tho virtually its the same car. i dont want to drive a cheap luxo car. instead i want an expensive small car. hahaha, im crazy
I like the torque of the Lancer better than ours. You can just feel more pull off the line, but I didn't feel much more HP. I testdrove the OZ Rally and was pretty disappointed. My car with bolt-ons felt much faster.
