engine swaps
engine swaps
ok im new to honda but not new to car tuning..i was thinking of getting a honda or acura...but i got a few questions b/c i know hondas are kinda slow stock
1)what is the best and most powerful swap that will be able to use pump gas and still be modified further with easy accessable parts...
2) i also need prices
3) looking to make a racer car that can be daily driven..so most likely imgoing to stay automatic

B18C1 are becoming harder to find.
What model of car are you looking for.
Honda/Acura K series (especially the K20A2 RSX TypeS) has been getting alot of press about its great potential.
As more RSX Type S get wrecked they will be cheap and plentiful.

for more money and easier to find parts, go with an RSX-S (6 speed), K20 stock 200hp, JDM version stock 220hp. With bolt ons you can get another 20 or so hp. Then forced induction supercharger or turbo = close to 300hp with internals. If you're really looking for an auto then try to go with an older plant B18c or something. This will be cheeper, but it is harder to find parts nowadays, since it's no longer in production.
well im leaning more towards an older car since i still have my car and need something affordable b4 i sell it..also i was thinking if i get an older car as long as it has great potential than i can get a half dead car swap the engine & tranny if needed and start rebuilding with a new modified parts..

i'm sure its possible, but for the money, you may as well caugh up the lil extra and go with the 200 hp engine instead.

If you're gonna have it in auto, then why even go with a Honda or Acura? They're not beasts in HP when they're automatics. Why not just get a 5.0?
I mean, you could get a turboed 92-95 Civic, have maybe 175 WHP, but you'll never actually spool all that HP up to use it if you're gonna be stuck in traffic.....Well, unless you supercharge it....
Edit: spellchecked...

Ok this is just me but if i had to keep the auto, these would be my options
92- 00 civic ex SOHC motor with upgraded internals and turbo (still a single bumpstick)
Integra ls/vtec conversion (easiest setup )
B20(99-01 CRV) swapped into either integra or civic shell(loads of tq )
Slim possibility of finding a b16 auto(very rare)
Thats all I could think of right now. Check me out when im actually awake.

Ummm....... you want auto without frankenstein, well, H22A. Or try an Integra with a non VTEC motor. Any B16 or B18C wuold not be for you since you want auto. Sorry.
well auto or stick i prefer auto but can do stick i just wanna know some hp numbers...o also what other cars can be easily modded or turbo charged and can create great hp with work...im just trying to look at all the options if you have other websites to other car forums please post..
