Rep Power: 0 Low beams too dim
Civic coupe 2012. Low beams work but are just too dim on the highway. I have replaced the fuse, cleaned the gels, replaced the bulbs with $50 silverstars. The only two things I can think of are that they are pointing too much toward the ground or that I just need some LED or Xenon bulbs. I lean toward the second one as just eyeballing the angle looks OK to me. Anyone have any other ideas? If I go with LED or Xenon is that a plug and play kind of thing or does it require more attention than that. Any help appreciated. Thx.

most important thing is the lenses are 100% clear as when new. if not, start there. the lights in the 2015 SI i was driving had amazing headlights and they should be the same exact lights as yours, they should be great.
i have never been a fan of sylvania. they just seem to be what the chain stores push. i think the only reason they seem brighter to people is because the bulbs are new. philips extreme, osram nightbreaker, ge nighthawks are all brighter, but with brighter comes a shorter life. you can get an explanation of the shorter life reading here: https://store.candlepower.com/osnibr.html
to cheat the lifespan issue and get more light, you can upgrade bulb type from a halogen 9006 to a HIR 9012 bulb if you are capable of trimming the tab as shown here: http://dastern.torque.net/Mods/HIRmod.html

candlepower forum is a great place for all lighting questions. they are big on making sure you don't use something glare-y that will blind others, careful not to recommend higher watt stuff that melts headlight housings/wiring, etc. when i need a lighting geek, that is my go-to.
lunch edit: i just searched them about a 2012 civic and it seems they also say the HIR (not HID, not a type) is the best possible upgrade. they also say to have them professionally aimed with a headlight aiming machine(but they're lighting geeks, i never heard of such a thing) 2012 civic thread: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...12-Honda-Civic
