Re: tpms 2010 civic

Sensor transmission failure could mean a failing sensor, or could be something like RF interference between the sensor and the receiver.

The sensor is likely 8 years old, a weak battery is certainly possible.

weak battery where? they have batteries ?

which one is sensor 1?

I recalibrated it, was off all day, but today it came back up.

anyways to test these?

will deflating tires force them to recalibrate, then pump them up with air to 33psi, and drive at 28mph for a minute?

freaking cars 8 years old, car only has 80k miles..WTF honda quality seems cheaper then my 05.. cheaper plastic seemed my 05 was heavier and better build.

Each sensor has a lithium battery inside it. Not serviceable.

You need to be able to read the unique sensor ID data from the control unit (to know which sensor ID it's calling #1, #2, etc.) and be able to scan the ID numbers from the sensors electronically so you can locate #1, #2, etc. by comparing with the data in the control unit.

Maybe you could manipulate tire pressures and figure out which sensor is what.

Or go around the car with a TPMS sensor reader and catch one that doesn't respond, or shows as having a low battery.
(this may not help if the sensor problem is centrifugal activation fail)

What exactly are you calling "recalibrate"?

You mean air up a low tire and drive it?

Re: tpms 2010 civic

I have a scanner that reads codes and can put id's in it..

little confused.. how do i know which one is sensor 1.

I read recalibration can be done somehow? i read inflate tires and drive at 28mph and it reset itself.. the issue is after a day light came back.. I will scanned tommorow night and see again..

not sure I can do all that with aftermarket scanner

Um. looked at the pic of your display again.

How about erase all the tpms codes. Then make sure 3 tires are aired up, and let one tire down to about 20 PSI then drive until the low tire light turns on, rescan and see which tire # the scanner says is low? Repeat until you find which is called #1 (This will not work if the TPMS warning light is on)

so i I buy a new one , I have to enter the id of it thru the computer to sinc it with the module?
Depends. Aftermarket has more options than factory. You can make a clone of an existing sensor (make duplicate ID) using some aftermarket setups.

If not then the new unique sensor ID has to be registered in the control unit. You'll have to read your scanner documentation to see if yours can do that.

I just need to see if I can see if there is way thru my scanner to check their voltage
Our ATEQ handheld will show battery status as either ok or low. So will the HDS scanner, along with a ton of other data most people would never need.
