The tire I want are the Michelin defenders but the closest size they make to factory size (215/55R16) are the 205/55R16, will these look funny or will there be any affect if I put these on?

they will be a little skinnier and slightly shorter but it won't really affect anything speedo may be very slightly off

To give you a figure of how off it'll be..
205/55's will make your speedometer read high by 1.7% (actual speed will be lower than indicated -- At 60MPH indicated, you'll actually be going about 59MPH)
Not a huge difference.
As far as appearance, the new, "smaller" tire will be .394" (1cm) skinnier, and the overall diameter will be smaller by .41" (1.03cm)
