Rep Power: 0 Honda Sensing Automatic Braking
Is anyone familiar with the collision avoidance systems on the new 16 Civic's
Speed limitations?
Other pros and cons.
I have driven it a few times but have not wanted to try and get in an accident to see if they work. Hoping someone knows the specifics of the system.
For instance, the automatic braking to avoid an accident.
Are there any speed limitations?
Are there any reasons it would not work?
Does it stop you or just slow you down?
Etc..
Thanks for any help

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Honda Sensing Automatic Braking
Your questions seem to be answered in the owners manual.
CMBS system description starts on p459
Copied from a 16 Civic Sedan owners manual:
Important Safety Reminder
The CMBS is designed to reduce the severity of an
unavoidable collision. It does not prevent collision nor
stop the vehicle automatically. It is still your
responsibility to operate the brake pedal and steering
wheel appropriately according to the driving
conditions.
The CMBS may not activate or may not detect a
vehicle in front of your vehicle under certain
conditions: (see specified pages)
