Rep Power: 0 Honda Civic Sedan Ex 2018 Tunning
Hi there again, just recently bought the honda civic ex sedan 2018. Its not a turbo, but is it worth the money of tuning it into something faster. Is an entire engine swap just completely bogus? Itd be nice if it had the same horsepower as the turbocharged model. I dont know. Any ideas anyone?

I know ktuner's been working with the K20C2 for about 4-5 months now. Just saw a baseline dyno (vs ktuner's work) and man, that torque curve is fugly compared to the 1.5T torque curve.
Source
The one big thing they did note was the severe drop in torque/HP at the 5750RPM mark, but they were able to smooth it out and squeeze power out of it
KTuner is $450 on their website (http://ktuner.com/16civic/), $650 if you want their badass little tablet thing that controls everything (still need a laptop to unlock the unit, but otherwise self contained in the tablet)
KTuner's also been working with RV6 to test out RV6's downpipes. From RV6, the K20C2 made 14ft-lbs and 13whp with a catless downpipe. Downside, thing is $330 for the catless downpipe

If you really want power out of this thing, wait for people to start releasing turbo kits for the K20C2. Either that, or with enough work and money, you can make your K20C2 into a K20C1. From my understanding, block is effectively the same, different internals, bore and stroke, compression ratio, head, not to mention that MHI TD04 putting out 23.2psi boost). Honda does sell the K20C1 as a crate engine, too. lol. Slight caveat, however...

If you like wasting money then sure.
If you tune it your warranty will be void. Which means it will lose a tone of aftermarket value if you want to sell it later, and if anything goes wrong while under warranty you will have to pay full price to fix it.
Also If you have the money to not care about the value of the car and to also spend a few thousand turbo modding it, why didn't you just buy a fast car?
If it were me I'd sell the civic and buy a used porsche cayman hard top, then boost that.
