2013 Civic vs. Civic Hybrid

Hi all,

I'm in the process of looking for a new commuting car and I'm trying to decide between a 2013 Civic and a 2013 Civic Hybrid.

I commute to work, mostly on the highway, where the speed limit is 70 mph. There are times when there is traffic, sometimes stop and go. Usually lasts around 10-20 minutes out of my hour and a half commute.

The Civic Hybrid seems like a good choice for the fuel savings, but there are a few things I'm wondering about. I've seen mixed reviews about the performance of this car. How is the acceleration on this model? Can this car comfortably drive at 75 or 80 mph? How is the fuel economy if I have cruise control set at 75 mph?

I was quite set on a Civic, but since I'll be putting close to 200 miles on it every time I drive to work, I thought a hybrid is working looking at. Would it be better to just stick to the tried and true Honda Civic?

I'd appreciate any feedback. Thank you in advance.

Bruno
