Suggestions for cracked header / D16Y7

Hey there. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. I have been having poor mpg, sluggish acceleration, foul smell in the cabin of the car, and semi-loud exhaust. I've performed a ton of different maintenance procedures to no avail. I've recently discovered a large 3-4" crack in the header right next to the O2 sensor. I'm hoping this may be the solution to some of the symptoms I've been experiencing.

I've read numerous threads on this forum (and others) regarding solutions, but they all seem to have issues. Some recommend welding the crack, which may fail. Some recommend a 4-2-1 aftermarket that may not pass emissions unless you do a bizarre mod (https://www.civicforums.com/forums/2...on-w-pics.html), but that can cause random CELs that have to be reset. And of course there's buying OEM, which is just ridiculously priced.

Can anyone provide any suggestions for getting this fixed in an affordable-yet-effective way? Does it make most sense to simply to aftermarket with the mod? Below is a pic of my crack (har har!) if that affects the recommendation. Thanks!
