Alright, So can someone tell me what the difference between an expensive cold air intake/short ram air intake are? I was given a cold air intake that I modified a little to be a short ram intake. My cone filter sits directly above the shifter linkage on the transmission. I really only added it to see if it made a difference with the intention of removing it.. however I prefer the sound my car makes at 3K plus revs with the new intake so I think it'll stay. I'm just curious what the differences are between the really expensive (200+) intakes and the in my case 6 dollar intake.. I'm not one of these guys to buy the cheapest s*it I can find, but i was bored, had tools in my trunk, and some free time.. lol after i installed it i noticed it hung a bit and actually touched the shifting point on my transmission (i assume is why people don't like these intakes) so I just made a custom aluminium bracket that lifted it up about 2 inches. Anyway, I'm not looking to get flamed for this lol.. I was actually planning to buy the weapon x intake that someone suggested on here.. I still may if there is something i'm missing.

On the side note, I did have to extend my sensor about 3 inches.. I did this (for lack of better terms) "mod" about a month ago, put about 1500 miles on my car so far (i drive a lot for work) and no code. anyway thanks a bunch for reading.

the only difference is the price

the only difference any type of bolt on intake like that will make (on an otherwise stock motor) will be the sound, as you mentioned,

+ one HP at most but nothing noticeable to the everyday driver,

have fun "sounding cool"

Oh okay, well thanks! I will have a great time sounding cooool

I didn't expect a horse power gain to be honest, I'm not even looking to race or drive this car fast anymore.. I'm drop dead in love with the gas millage!
-----Although!------
Maybe if I put a bunch of stickers and a huge wing I'll get more hp! each sticker is like 10Hp right? and the wing? the wing has to be like 100hp gain!
I may have the fastest civic in the world with those mods lmao

thanks for the reply tho. I'd rather not spend a bunch of money on nothing but looks.
