Need advice on what to do with my civic

Hey everyone, I just got a 2002 Honda civic dx. It's a 4 door with a stock spoiler. I'm going into grade 12 and have a part time job so money isn't much of an issue depending on what I get. I wanted to know what kind of general upgrades I can make to my car, I've looked into intakes and exhausts and stuff, but I wanted to know the opinion of other civic owners before I make a purchase. I am no mechanic by any means, so I would rather stay away from engine swaps or anything like that. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are SO many threads on this same subject... I recommend looking them up! I'll just quote myself from an earlier thread:

You can consider getting an EX head swap for the VTEC.

You can also just swap the engine out for a more powerful one, if you have the $$$.

Intake/exhaust header/exhaust system upgrade is what most people do first, but the gains are arguable with the D17 engine.

I've seen Stage 1 camshafts from Crower with some good gains on this site.

Just use the search function, or check out the 7th gen category on this site.
You can also consider throwing some coilovers on and lowering the car, adding a rear sway bar (mine's in the mail! ) or a front one, a front strut tower bar, or plenty of other mods. If you've got some serious cash, you can make a mean machine out of yours, but why not just get a faster car? If not, you can still have a fun ride!

Intake and headers just add some extra noise and a little pep, nothing major.

Suspension mods are fun! Retrofit also!
