speed problem

i have a 2004 civic ex coupe sohc no vtec and i cant seem to do over 80 i know how to drive but i cant seem to get my car faster than 80 also at 60 in 5th it revs at about 3500rpm can anyone help me if theres a problem? im pretty sure it was a company car when it was first bought so there may be a speed limiter on it but i doubt it.

Re: speed problem

might just need a good tuneup. new plugs (ngk or denso), clean out intake parts, check fuel pressure, new air filter, auto-rx.com oil treatment system if the engine was neglected (probably), make sure brakes arent dragging, tires at around 35psi, etc. here is a good start.

Ive hit the limit at 115mph in my stock DX, just do some basic tune ups and you should be good to go
