Question about exhaust/CAI
Question about exhaust/CAI
So I have a 2001 Honda Civic EX,
I'm wanting a AEM Cold Air a intake but it looks to big to fit
And I found a Magnaflow exhaust bolt in,
http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts...A3570A0A0.aspx
Is that a good exhaust or is it not worth it?
And after that I'm wanting to grab ceramic DC headers
I'm new to this but am I going in the right direction?

Re: Question about exhaust/CAI
if AEM is stating it will fit you car, then it will. if it's a generic tube from AEM then it may or may not.
is it worth it, well that depends. if you by from a brand like AEM then it will fit like a glove, the install instructions will make the job quick and it will look great. on the down side you'll be paying mad money for a tube with a $15 filter on the end. that's all an intake is, just a tube.
you can make your own or get a generic one for cheap and buy a quality filter, for like $150, or you can buy name brand, mine set me back $320 from Megnaflow. i love it but the oney would have been beter spent on a stage one cam from Crower, which run around $400 befor shipping.
running a full exhaust system and an intake will make your car loader and you may notice more torque, mine seems to handle hills better and can carey more people with ease. you probabley wont see any improvment in speed.
in fact i'm pretty sure my 0-60km might be worse, because the low end powerband seems lessor, how ever from a rolling 60-120km, it feels pretty solid and the vtec sounds great.

Re: Question about exhaust/CAI
ebay is a good place to find one. you can also try craigslis for used intakes. i got my cat. back for $150 used off craig's.
i'm not sure what you mean by the bolt in being a bad thing.
if you mean boltons then no they're not bad. it's just that this engine is so well develpoed for fuel efficiency that bolt-ons don't give you much power. they're more for looks and sound.

Re: Question about exhaust/CAI
Is this a good intake that will work well?

I'm just nervous because it's 50 bucks lol
Will I have to do any modifications?
