I have a 2004 honda civic ex coupe and i want to get a reasonably priced cat back exhaust and i have narrowed my choices to these two. Any info would be great

if you have a body kit, magnaflow, if you dont, megan racing, cuz it angles and burns the body kit a little bit, well at least it did mine

yea im leaning towards the megan exhaust. on the website it says 10-15 hp gains but i doubt that. do u kno how much hp u really gain?

2 hp without headers, maybe 5 with headers, max with basic all bolt ons is around 10hp gain

the meganracing exhaust sounds way better then the magnaflow IMO. but yea it is kinda loud though.

I have the Magnaflow cat-back and its perfect for me. Its nice and deep and its not too loud. Plus it fit perfectly with out any modification. It does add some noticable torque in the low end, but nothing outstanding since its only exhaust.

So its mainly on if you want to hear the exhaust all the time or when you want to, from what it sounded like in the clip.

Oh....Magnaflow's sound clips are exactly what it sounds like, atleast through my speakers.

the magnaflow is quiet... gives off a lil deep tone, but the megan is loud which i like. I have the magnaflow myself and i have felt a lil gain but too quiet for my taste

based on that with the megan exhaust, it does sound nice. i just doubt if the police here in the 909 are going to ignore me if i had that exhaust.

If you dont get on it it isnt that loud. Before 3500 rpm it is just really deep.
If you put the silencer it still sounds good just quieter. Cops dont bother me here in the 330.

Yea.....I like the quiet deep tone, but its loud enough to get an alarm to chirp at me, lol.

I havent heard one bad comment when people have heard it in person. Everyone says "It doesn't like a honda at all" I have even had a couple of guys with cobras say it sounds mean. (not as mean as theirs of course hahaha)

I have OBX catback. Looks same as Megan. Its about 2+ years old. Cromed muffler showing orange spots at welding points. I'm no **** on the look, so it still looks nice to me. Sounds just like amplified stock muffler. When I let off gas at about 4000prm's my muffler will make fart sound for few seconds...but I think this is a trade off when you dont pay premium on certain products.
All in all it serves its purpose of a straight through exhaust made out of semi-stainless steel.

@ my job there a mazda protegespeed, 350z twin turboed, s13 turboed, del sol turboed, and we were all talking today and they asked me wut the heel did i do to my car when i pulled in this morning. They complimented the tone and asked about the piping, company and all that 411 stuff. They want me to boost my Vic so bad but i will one day. Oh this was with the silencer out

p.s. i dont have anything else but the header str8 to the cat back.

magnaflow is great...its fully stainless and sounds nice, not too loud....its also good if your planning on turboing cuz it doesnt have flanges, the u clamps give room for expansion from high heat...muffler isnt too too big also.

id like to see the actual dyno pull myself. they show 118hp and 110ftlbs there has not been a dyno graph here yet that has dynoed those numbers with just an exhaust. i call BS

yea i got lazy, i posted this awhile back on another thread, and i didnt mention that it seems like bs. quite a few posibilities though.

1: it says EX but it shows the hp levels of the non vtec engine
2: if it is, then they are going with hp levels from the flywheel
3: modifications prior to the dyno

I have the magnaflow cat-back, but w/ test pipe instead of cat. I love it, its still not too loud and a nice deep tone

Is it me or does the Megan exhaust sound very generic? Anyway, the police in the 909 area aren't that bad.
