Get custom exhaust done. I bought a real apexi n1 muffler for $200 and had a 2.25" MANDREL BENT pipe done all the way to the header and they put a new flange at the header so it is bolt-on for $65 plus tax and flange cost. it was liek $70 something total

You can get the Magnaflow one. Thats what i got since all of the other exhausts were for ex. It sounds really good and i feel a little difference in power. Very easy to install. All you need to do is get it welded where the clamps go.

i called Skunk2 and they said u can use their EX exhaust system but you just have to have a muffler shop make a extensions pipe or spacer pipe or whatever they said.

Hey i have a question myself peeps. I have a HP Racing header with the cat, would I still have to get an extension pipe if i got an EX exhaust system.

Oh and there is website that has the skunk2 exhaust system for the lx (i think it comes with the extension pipe) but the **** is like 519 or something.

i have a magnaflow and to tell you the truth it sounds raspy if you have a header. without the header it is still raspy but not as loud. i had my friend drive by and it souded like a bee. i got a flowmaster rear section and had t welded in place of the original muffler and it sounds great. it's got a low tone, not raspy at all and it looks almost stock so if you have a lot of mods like me you have the sleeper thing goin.

header

what type of header do you have cause if you have an lx header you wont need a high flow cat... but only kamikaze n obx make them for us... but if you have a ex... no you wont but i believe it is your have to extend all of your sensors to fit into the cat (pain in the ***)

i've had my friend circle in a parking lot while i stood and watched. It didn't sound raspy. It does when you first start the car and all the piping is cold but after it warms up, i think it sounds good.

do you have a header? cause it really isn't noticeable until you slap a header on there and eliminate the cat.

Ooooh. I gotcha.

In response to the thread:
There are a few catbacks to choose from for the lx. Your other alternatives are to get an axle-back or get a muffler and get custom piping from a shop.

You won't find a good custom setup. Those expensive kits have mandrel bent pipes for smoother airflow. Almost everyone who goes custom doesn't feel gains and usually has a really loud muffler sound.

Search for that one, I know members have converted to an EX-like exhaust system. Don't know specifics tho.

The only fitment issuse a magnaflow has is if your car is lowered it might scrape. I installed mine in less then 20 minutes, includes getting the old exhaust off
