are you talking about the cold-air intake?...'cause i have the short-ram, and the only problem was that the air-flow sensor didn't quite fit where it was supposed to on the new intake, and i had to trim up a grommet kinda thing and stick around it to make it snug so it wouldn't fall out...but other than that it was all super easy...i had never done an intake before, but it came with instructions, and i had it on in less than an hour...hope this helps...good luck!
hey vietscouty, how did you leave just the top half, i tried that and my filter won't fit cause i don't have enough room. i got mine installed without any cutting, install was a breeze. just follow the directions
Binky: I had a different air filter which is a little smaller than tha one Injen had given. How in the world did u manage to do it without cutting? Last time I heard is that you don't even have to remove the front bumper...
all u need to do is cut that splash guard or whatever its called, the black plastic thing, which u could probably do with a knife.... Its not hard, just as easy as a short ram, except u cut the plastic thing out.
im talking about the black plastic thing there the filter will go thru, under ur passenger headlight i believe, tkae off ur bumper and ull see it and be able to cut a little part of it off so the bottom part of the intake can go thru

the cai is the same as the short ram except the filter will locate further down on the engine bay. once the top piece is connected (Short ram). all u do is connec thte bottom piece of the intake, which doesn't connect to anything but the top piece (which is connect to the brackets and stuff)... so besides the cutting to allow the filter to go into the desired location, which all it is is cutting a small square or wahtever, short ram and cold air are the same degree of difficulty to install
on 04 civics with auto you can only use short ram because there isnt enough space. the CAI only fits 04s with manual tranny. hope that helps you out. i have short ram aem and it fits perfectly with very little room to work around.

V2 is just a short ram intake for the new civics. And yes, the Injen cai needs some cutting of things to fit or else it will scrape and ruin the intake.
