Aem Cai

Are all AEM Cai two piece and if so, can it be converted into a sri?

the lx/dx is technically two piece ... but the front piece that connects to the throttle body is longer than with the ex ... so it cannot be changed into an sri

I actually made a review about it. Search up threads made by me and you'll find it.

Personally, the intake as a 2-piece CAI performs better in the high-end and it's louder. The main plus with the CAI as an SRI was throttle response but the top end of the engine felt weaker. There was no different in low-end as either way it'll eat up low end power. All in all I think the SRI simply makes you lose power. It feels worse than stock and almost sounds like stock where as the CAI just takes your low end for a lil' high end - and the sound on an EX is quite pleasing.

will a kamikaze header bring back a little bit of low end power if I have the CAI cause I noticed the difference when I put the CAI on.. I was like starting off all slow and weak but after about 3k rpm I was flying..

I put an Injen SRI on my car and I lost a little low end but the high end I gained is worth every bit lost in the low.

I really like my V2. Of course I don't have anything to compare it to, but the gains are there.

Nah, I'm still gonna say that there are gains with the Injen SRI, the stock intake is just to restrictive. After I get some money I'm gonna dyno with both, see the difference.

if you have an aem intake for your lx... it should be two pieces (the 2nd piece if very short ... maybe 6-8 inches long) ... but the 2nd piece has bigger piping.. and should mount to a new tranny bracket that they provided

That is utterly impossible FYI. HP is a # derived from torque.
