Rep Power: 291 K & N FIPK II big differeence!!!! better then CAI
Holy cow! I just installed the new K & N FIPK II intake on my 2001 EX.
Huge difference. More lower end torque deffinately and you can feel it.
Sound is a little deeper growl. Heat shield totally isolates the intake
away from the eninge and the hard plastic piping does not get hot from
radiant engine heat like the Cold Air Intake I had installed.
I highly reccomend this for anyone K & N Engineering.
Once again. The throttle response and torque is Very noticable!
K & N got something right for our cars and tuned it very well!!!

I would now like to fabricate a small hood scoup and install it right over the filter and get a ram air effect.
Very pleased with this Intake and it by far superseeds AEM'S CAI!

Rep Power: 291 Yes I did have a good CAI before. This one is way better.
I highly reccomend that you get this.
I really noticed the difference. My car pulls harder now at lower rpms
before the headers come into play at 4100 rpms

Rep Power: 340 The FIPK is good, but its the only one I've had. So I've got nothing to compare it too. It was a good investment for the pull it gives, I don't feel like I wasted money at all. I do wish our engines responded better to mods though.
If you follow through on the ram air style scoop, keep us updated.

Rep Power: 340 Its just the FIPK gen II. I don't know about a gen I. Call up planetperformance.com (I don't know their number off hand) and ask for Jason. He set up the group buy a month or two back. He might be able to get you a deal. I ended up paying $182.49 shipped to my door. The service was very good. So this place is worth a try.

Rep Power: 0 FIPK Gen II
TYPHOON COLD AIR SYSTEM
The FIPK is the one that's made of black plastic and has the black metal heat shield.
The CAI and SRI are alumium tubes and are similar to AEM and the others.
K&N Part number for FIPK = 57-3513

Rep Power: 291 I received this as a gift, but these retail for $357.00 but you can get them as low as $203.00.. average price being sold is $235.00.
Generation II is the latest model of the FIPK. So for our cars you
want to get the K & N FIPK II.
My car is an EX stick shift.
It sure does growl now and stays cooler than the CAI that I
had installed before. What a difference!!

Rep Power: 291 Yes it is CARB legal.
Looks nicer than the iceman intake. I think this one works better
because of the plastic piping and how it is ver well shielded from radiant heat from the engine bay.
Definatly a must for every 7th gen owner. That is unless you want
to be AEM ricer.

Rep Power: 0 i have the typhoon and it is good. i change from the aem cai to the k&n one. but some how the typhoon cold air piece doesn't fit right. there was a piece that the aem had to take off while the k&n one kept it for the cold air piece to screw on to. does anyone have a picture of the k&n cold air attach to that rubber screw thingy on the car? i need a close up picture of it. my clutch line is suppose to be screw onto that piece of medal but it doesn't fit also.

K&N designed their CAI to work with the stock one... I hope u ahve ur stock one laying around if you're planning to switch to K&N
I wouldn't know why u want to though, they're basically the same CAI... wouldn't be worth the $$$ much to pay for the difference.
