Rep Power: 0 Few questions, Arp head studs, pulleys, cam sprocket
Few questions to finalize my research before my move and ordering parts. Have a blown head gasket right now, so I am going to fix that and do some upgrades while I'm inside the motor. Stage 1 cam, ARP studs, timing, head mill, AEM SRI, exhaust, other preventative maintenance, etc, etc. Just want to do this right the first time.
1) With the ARP studs, do they get torqued to 3 steps to 49 or 60 ft-lbs of torque? ARP says 60 on their website, but it just says the D16z6 motor and not the D17a motor, honda manual says 49. I will be using the OEM gasket with doing this.
2)With the head mill, I'm looking at .020 to max mill on it, I read somewhere (cant remember where on here or find it again) that with the milling, it is a good idea to get an adjustable cam sprocket. Yay or nay? If so, how would I figure out which way to set it?
3) Would like some more knowledge on the underdrive pulleys. Found all 3 (crank, alternator, power steering) for around $150. Do they do much with the D17's or no?
4) Maybe wrong section, but doing this at the same time but I'm wondering for the 5-speed tranny, what kind of fluid does it take? I was told GL5 by an Oreilly auto guy, but that doesn't quite sound right for a tranny to me, but I know its possible.
Thanks in advance
