Rep Power: 0 Difference btn intakes
ANyone know what the physical difference is btn the EX and the LX/DX engine is? I'm inquiring cuz some guy is selling CAI's for the EX only. He says it fits only on the EX model. Anyone know wether or not there is an actual difference enough to make intakes un-interchangable btn civic models? Or will any intake fit on any D17 engine?

Rep Power: 394 Well... Let's see, the headers are real headers on the EX. The LX has a header/catalytic converter combination that takes up more space. The EX has the VTEC head, but I think the head size is the same. I'm not sure that there's much more difference than that? Just the different ECU. The big difference is probably betwean manual trannies and automatic trannies. I think the automatic trannies take up more space in the engine bay.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah i know that. Pretty mcuh the differences are internal. But no one seems to be able to answer my question of whether or not intakes are interchangable. Are the vacuum ports and throttle body in the same place?
