I have a bare block and bare head I want about 300 to 350hp. I know I'm going turbo but what else should I beef up while the motor is nothing right now. I was thinking forged pistons 9.0:1 ratio. I don't think that's to high for turbo. I'm doing forged rods Brian Crower 403 cam shafts, valve springs, retainers, etc... but I hear people say to get a port and polish. Just not really sure where to send it out to get done. I live in northeast Ohio not alot of tuner garages. Also from what I been researching I'll need to upgrade my fuel system. I have an idea of the direction I'm going. If anyone could help me out on something I'm missing or if this setup is pointless. It would be much appreciated.

First, if you haven't already, beef up the suspension and wheels first. Power is nothing if you can't keep the car planted to take advantage of it (power). Lower the car on a quality set of coil-overs. Use rims that can accommodate wide tires such as 205/50/r15.

You can port and polish it yourself. It's easy but can take a long time depending on the quality you want. I got board after a few hours and only really polished the 75% or the ports. But I increased my port diameter by 1/4inch to match the header/turbo manifold.

Some things people forget about other than the main turbo setup, are...

-cooler spark plugs
-fuel pump upgrade
-wide band air fuel sensor

Thank you for the input I wanted to do nonturbo high compression setup but everyone said 300hp was out of the question with a B18 non turbo.
