Rep Power: 0 Fuel pump not getting power 1989 Honda Civic Hatchback DX
Was driving down the road and started to smell burning wires and saw smoke by the steering column so I pulled over and killed the car. Tried to start again and noticed the fuel pump was no longer making that thumping noise when you first turn the key on.
I replaced the main fuel pump relay under the dash by the hood latch release. Sill no power to the fuel pump.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I have had problems with the car dying driving down the road in the past but it always would start back up.
There does not appear to be any burnt wires under the dash but I really cant see up in there that well.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Check all fuses?
I'd grab a wiring diagram and a voltmeter, do some serious circuit testing.
